Suzy is a vocal and prideful young girl who always speaks from the heart. She easily recognizes when people are hurting, but is also aware when they are being manipulative and disingenuous. She was ashamed at Jin for giving up on being made fun of simply so that he can get into soccer, but respected him for his honesty. She does not hold grudges as she seems to consider him a friend and is shown hanging out with Anuj in a platonic way, though it is implied that she is very much aware of his crush on her.

In the original graphic novel, Suzy was a fellow student who tried to distance herself from Jin due to their classmates' racism. She ends up dating Wei-Chen, but starts feeling self-conscious at her school. Jin attempts to kiss her following his damaged relationship with Amelia and Greg and she angrily slaps him. It is later implied that Wei-Chen breaks up with her.
While Suzy Nakamura is Japanese, her portrayer, Rosalie Chiang, is Taiwanese-Singaporean.
