Swiped is an American biographical drama film written and directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg. It is based on the life of Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder and former CEO of Bumble. It was released on Hulu on September 19, 2025.

Synopsis[]

Follows the career of Whitney Wolfe Herd, the creator of the dating app Bumble, and how she changed the landscape of online dating, and birthed the cultural phrase to "swipe left".

Production[]

In March 2024, it was announced that a biographical drama film based on the life of Whitney Wolfe Herd, founder and former CEO of Bumble, was in development at 20th Century Studios. Rachel Lee Goldenberg had been hired to direct and co-write the screenplay, with Lily James cast in the lead role as Herd.[1] Filming began on May 15, 2024, in Los Angeles, and wrapped on July 9.[2][3]
