The building is located on a new island the Robinsons dub "New Switzerland". The building itself was made out of wood from their ship that got shipwrecked and stuck on the rocks and from the trees on the island. It has three rooms: the parents' room, the boys' room, and the living room. Birds can be seen inhabiting in their sometimes. It is surrounded by areas where the farm animals and exotic birds are put.

Parents' room: Where Father and Mother sleep. Father shows Mother how she can look at the stars every night, she fixes the curtains in her own design and dresses up Roberta in proper lady clothing.
Boys' room: Where Fritz, Ernst, and Francis sleep.
Living room: Where the Robinsons celebrate Christmas with singing and dancing, prepare for New Switzerland's new holiday, and Captain Moreland comes to visit them.
The "Treehouse Juju" pendant was made in the likeness of the Swiss Family Treehouse. These jujus were featured in the attraction's Tarzan themed mission where guests found petroglyphs of the Treehouse Juju at the base of Tarzan's treehouse.
In the Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise, Skipper Felix's application form for the Jungle Navigation Comapny can be seen in the queue where he mentions having lived in the treehouse around 1937/1938.

In the parks, the tree on which the treehouse is located upon as been given the names, "Disneyodendron semperflorens grandis" (Latin: Large, always blooming Disney tree) and, "Disneyodendron eximus" (Latin: Out of the Ordinary Disney tree) by Disney botanist Bill Evans.
