The symbiotic alien first makes an appearance in the premiere episode "Amazing Fantasy", when Doctor Strange from the future opens a portal and the creature falls through with the superhero. The symbiotic slien starts to attack a freshman at Midtown High, so Strange uses his magic to tie up the symbiotic alien. Doctor Strange then returns to the portal to leave this time period and takes the symbiotic alien with him, just as a radioactive spider escapes the portal and bit Peter Parker.
