Takodona is a forest planet. Covered in lush forests and small lakes, Takodana is a popular departure point that offered easy access to trade routes that connected the Inner and Outer Rim.
History[]
Takodana was the home of Maz Kanata, and the location of her castle. About thirty years after the Battle of Endor, it experienced a major battle between the First Order and the Resistance, and the castle was destroyed.
In printed media[]
Takodana is briefly mentioned by Ahsoka Tano as a possible place to hide from the Galactic Empire in the novel Ahsoka, but she decides against it, knowing it was an unpredictable place where others might turn her in.
Trivia[]
- Star Wars director J.J. Abrams named the planet after Takadanobaba, a neighborhood in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
- The forest scenes where Rey first encounters Kylo Ren, were filmed at Puzzlewood, Gloucestershire, UK.
