"Tarzan and the Seeds of Destruction" is the eighteenth episode of The Legend of Tarzan. It originally aired on UPN on September 23, 2001.
Synopsis[]
When the elephant lagoon turns smelly because of decaying vegetation after heavy rains, Jane plants a sweet-smelling (albeit non-native) flowery vine from her home country England. But the vine grows out of control, causing an ecological disaster that leads to all-out war between the elephants (whom the vine has driven out of their feeding territory) and the gorillas (whom Tarzan persuades to let them share their own territory with the elephants). Despite Jane and the Professor's best efforts to get rid of the vines using aphids, frogs, and snakes, matters only turn worse, and it is up to Jane - with help from Tarzan - to undo her mistake by letting the jungle's natural ecosystem takes it's course. And when a fire breaks loose in the jungle due to a lightning strike, both the gorillas and elephants are forced to put aside their feuding rivalry and team up to put out the forest fires to save their home.

Trivia[]
- Moral: While it's good to want to help, there are some situations where you should not interfere.
- When Tarzan takes up Jane's suggestion of diplomacy to resolve the war between the gorillas and elephants, he resorts to creating a boundary line for the elephants and the gorillas' territories, which is very reminiscent to that of the Donald Duck cartoon "Beezy Bear".
- Jane and her father's attempts to get rid of the vines using aphids, frogs, and snakes is inspired by the natural food chain, which consists of one animal eating the plant followed by said animal eaten by another predatory animal and so on.
