- “I may not know what the future holds, but I'll take on whatever rolls my way!”
- ―Tater[src]
Tater Ramirez Humphrey is the protagonist of the 2024 Disney Channel animated series Primos. She is an eccentric Mexican American Chicano girl with big dreams determined to find what makes her extraordinary. But when her twelve cousins move in for the summer, they help her discover her true self.
Background[]
Personality[]
Tater is first shown being rather optimistic about her future and who she wants to be. However, this is stymied by the arrival of her cousins (or primos) causing her to become very withdrawn and slightly anti-social. Tater can be very crafty if the situation calls for it, but this also results in her becoming rather egocentric, believing herself to have higher goals than say her family, who admittedly are more close to the earth than her. On the other hand, Tater is very observant and does have an open mind, implying that she is very intelligent. This is ironic as her sister Nellie explains that she does not like school. Tater still cares about her family, especially her baby brother, Bud.
Physical appearance[]
Tater is a short, slim 9-year-old girl of Mexican descent. She has reddish brown hair and pink/green braces. She usually wears glasses, also dresses in a red t-shift with pink-stripes, ripped blue shorts, and sandals.
Trivia[]
- Tater is obviously based on series creator Natasha Kline, who previously worked on the series Big City Greens.
- Tater does not know a lot of Spanish and speaks with a lisp due to her braces. However in "Summer of No Sabo", it is revealed that she actually knows more French than Spanish and in "Summer of Bookita" she knows minimal ASL (American Sign Language).
- Tater, like Nacho, Nachito, and Gordita, has a food-themed nickname.
- Her favorite animal is the tiger as evidenced by her imaginary friend Vision Tiger, as well as the fact that she owns tiger themed pajamas.
