"Teacher's Pet" is the eighth episode of the Disney Channel and Marvel Animation series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Synopsis[]
When Devil gets jealous of sharing Lunella with her class hamster and accidentally sets the animal free, he must search New York City to bring the furry friend home.
Plot[]
Lunella and Devil stop a very unusual crime involving rats stealing pizza. Unbeknownst to them, the rats belong to the Rat King, a humanoid rat villain. The next day, Devil prepares the lab for movie night with him, Lunella and Casey, but as the girls arrive, he is shocked to see that they have brought the school hamster with them, Angel (pronounced An-hel). The girls apparently forget about movie night and Devil is clearly jealous of Angel. Angel in turn finds Devil intimidating and is afraid of him. During the night, Devil has a nightmare that Angel takes his place as Lunella's sidekick and he accidentally knocks Angel's cage over, causing him to escape.
In the morning, Devil hides what happened to Lunella and he uses his sniffing to try and find Angel who has fled into the city. After searching high and low, he finds Angel, but he is too afraid of Devil and runs away from him, eventually ducking into a sewer drain. Lunella and Casey return to the lab and see it in distress. Believing that a villain kidnapped Angel and that Devil took off after them, Lunella suits up to find them. She find Devil, but he informs her that it was his fault he escaped, angering her into searching by herself. Angel is found by the Rat King who decides to use him as bait to lure Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur for ruining his plan. Lunella finds Angel, but she is captured by the Rat King.
Rat King releases Angel who finds Devil sulking and recruits him to go and free Lunella. They come barging into Rat King's lair and after an intense fight, Lunella uses her cassette player to play a frequency, scaring away the rats and defeating Rat King. Rat King admits that he was just a regular rat who mutated and tries to flee, but falls from a great height and lands in the sewer water below. Devil admits that he was jealous of Angel and Lunella tells him that he does not need to worry about it as he is still her best friend. Devil, Lunella, Casey and Angel prepare movie night together, but Devil is horrified to learn that Angel was only staying for the weekend. In the sewers, Rat King climbs out of the water.
