Terry is a character featured in the 2020 Disney+ original film Black Beauty.
Background[]
Terry is an African-American ranger who works at a local national park. During his time as a ranger, Black Beauty was sold to him so that he could use her for rescues, especially looking for missing people across the mountains, albeit risking their lives to rescue people whom Terry and Beauty never met, reminding Beauty of her nature home in the wild where she worked two years with him. However, on one occasion, Terry had trouble rescuing a victim who is about to fall off a waterfall, leading Beauty to rescue him and the victim with confidence. However, noticing that Beauty is feeling uncomfortable, Terry decided to retire her where Beauty faced several more challenges before reuniting Jo Green.
Role in the film[]
After Black Beauty was brought to the Town & County Stud and Training Horse Farm, she approaches Terry whom she was sold to, despite being angry - although Beauty showed a like on her while adapting her life when he purchased her. During his life, Terry brought Black Beauty on a rescue to help search for people lost on the mountains, which reminds Beauty of her life in nature before she was captured by rustlers as she worked for Terry for two years in the mountain doing many brave rescues. However, during a storm on a river, Terry noticed a man who was caught in a river, making it harder for him to rescue, as a result of the storm making it hard for him to rescue, due to the flowing current about to lead them right into a waterfall.
Seeing Terry and the man he was about to rescue in danger, Black Beauty began to be determined enough in her mind so that she could rescue Terry. Just as the storm continues to become stronger, she was able to rescue Terry and the victim who are about to rescue them from falling off a waterfall. With Terry rescued, he brings the victim to a hospital to nurse him back to good health while Beauty is congratulated for being a hero. However, Beauty began to feel cold in the stable, which she thought Terry forgot to give her a blanket to keep her warm. The next day, Terry decided to retire Black Beauty who is in the risk of dying from the cold just as she thinks of being with Jo Green. Terry then retired Beauty where she faced many challenges throughout her life until she finally met Jo Green. Terry does not appear again afterwards.
