Thalia Grace is a supporting character in the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. She is the daughter of Zeus.
Background[]
Personality[]
Thalia is said to have been a brave and courageous child of Zeus. Annabeth Chase, Luke Castellan, and Grover Underwood all admired her and she is said to be an inspiration for all demigods.
Role in the series[]
The Lightning Thief[]
While she doesn't physically appear, Grover Underwood informs Percy Jackson about Thalia's sacrifice. Many years ago, Grover was meant to protect Thalia, Annabeth Chase, and Luke Castellan by leading them to Camp Half-Blood where they would be safe. Unfortunately, monsters from all over appeared and viciously hunted the children. Thalia threw herself in harm's way so that the others could escape, resulting in her losing her life. Due to her courageousness, her father Zeus took pity on his daughter and turned her into a magical pine tree which created a barrier around the camp and protected its residents.
Trivia[]
- Prior to Tamara Smart portraying her, Thalia Grace was played by Paloma Kwiatkowski in the second live-action movie.
- Her name is pronounced as it is spelled as "Thawl-ee-uh". In her last live-action appearance, her name was mistakenly pronounced with a hard "T" instead of the obvious "Th".
- Tamara Smart previously starred in the Netflix adaptation of Resident Evil where Lance Reddick, who portrayed Zeus in the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, played her father. Ironically, Reddick passed away before he could play her father again, with Courtney B. Vance taking over the role.
