"The (After)Life of the Party" is the second segment of the twenty-sixth episode of the Disney Channel animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee.
Synopsis[]
When Scratch is invited to a cool party, he must ditch his plans with Geoff.
Plot[]
Molly is helping Geoff with setting up a party, something which Scratch, in his usual fashion, shows no interest in. Scratch halfheartedly tells Geoff that he will be at his party and heads into the ghost realm to get himself a snack. While there he encounters another ghost named Jeff who he thinks is cool and gets complimented from. Jeff invites Scratch to a party he is throwing and Scratch happily accepts, only to remember Geoff's party. Scratch tells Molly about a dilemma involving a "friend" who has two parties, but only one he wants to go to. Misinterpreting her information, he pretends to be sick for Geoff and Molly realizes that Scratch was talking about himself.
Scratch arrives at Jeff's party and runs into Jinx, who he still holds a grudge against, but tries to be cordial to. Back in the human realm, Molly is attempting to "fix" her friendship guide when Geoff shows up asking if he can give Scratch his bowl of soup. Molly manages to cover for him and Geoff leaves saddened. Geoff suddenly shows up at the party where Scratch informs Jinx about what happened. Jinx sneakily realizes what is happening and convinces Scratch to hide from Geoff while she "covers" for him, though it is very obvious that she wants him to be found out. Scratch flies about the party eating everything in sight while avoiding Geoff.
Jinx eventually leads Geoff to Scratch, but to Scratch's surprise, Geoff is happy to see him declaring that he is at the party he was setting up. Geoff and Jeff are afterlife partners which Jinx knew along and was messing with Scratch as revenge for defeating the previous chairman. Scratch, who had been dismissive of his friend's personal life this whole time, did not realize that Geoff had a boyfriend. He admits this to him and apologizes for not being a good friend. Geoff is happy nonetheless he is here, but Jeff threatens Scratch if he ever harms Geoff again. Scratch returns home where a frantic Molly has just revised her friendship book, but Scratch tells her that everything worked out in the end, confusing her.
