"The Accidental Captives" is the second segment of the sixty-second episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on October 30, 2017 alongside "Bots of Fury", and is the second segment of the eighth episode in the third season.

Synopsis[]

When their shuttle is stolen by Nemesystems, Watson and Crick become trapped inside!

Plot[]

While Admirals Watson and Crick are taking a TTA shuttle, they are impressed by the three Exo-Flex Xs, including the one Crick designed just for the Admirals. However, Watson disagrees. Crick says that they need it to protect them for dangerous missions. Watson says that they don't go on dangerous missions, as others do that for them. What makes the Exo-Flex X Crick designed special is because it has two heads, like the Admirals. Just then, an automated voice announces that a spacecraft is approaching. Crick assumes that it is an ice cream shuttle. However, it is a Nemesystems strikeship. The Admirals immediately notice this. Crick tells Watson to get them out of there, but the strikeship catches the shuttle with its trap beam. The Admirals then decide to call Mission Force One.

In the Zenith, Zeno informs the team of such. The Admirals tell the team what is happening to them. Blodger wonders what Commander Nemex would want with the Exo-Flex Xs. Mirandos and Loretta say that Nemex and his his forces could smash their way into any TTA facility they want and no one could stop them. Miles reassures the Admirals that Mission Force One is coming to get them and the suits. The Admirals decide to send the team their location when the shuttle gets towed into a Nemesystems thundership. Haruna says that taking on the thundership is another problem. Miles says that that doesn't change Mission Force One's mission, which is to rescue the Admirals and the Exo-Flex Xs. The team then performs their signature catchphrase and activates their recruit suits' mission mode.

The Zenith then approaches where the thundership is. After an unsuccessful attempt, Blodger activates Invisitech. Just then, the strikeship tows the Admirals' shuttle into the thundership's hangar, where a robot replaces the TTA logo with the Nemesystems one. Crick assumes that N is also for "Not our shuttle anymore".

So Mission Force One won't get spotted, Miles decides for the rescue team small. Miles decides for Mirandos, in case her engineering skills are needed, and Haruna, in case he needs to knock down dome doors, to come with him. Loretta, Blodger, and M.E.R.C. will have the Zenith ready and waiting for a quick getaway.

Mirandos writes a code that quickly deactivates the ship's hatch. Once Miles, Haruna, and Mirandos are inside, Mirandos pulls Miles out of the path of nemetrons. Since there are way too may bots to sneak past, Miles decides for them to join them in disguise. Mirandos then solidizes three nemetron costumes. Miles already has trouble controlling his costume, and tells Mirandos and Haruna to act natural. However, they are still having trouble controlling their disguises, but the other nemetrons do not notice.

In the hangar, a control bot and a nemetron appear, and the nemetron sees that the strikeship stole another TTA shuttle. The Admirals notice this, and Crick is freaking out, since there is no place to hide. The nemetron opens the door, and sees three Exo-Flex Xs, with the Admirals hiding in the one with two heads. He also sees no pilot, and assumes that he bailed out. The nemetron tells the control bot to take them to the lab while he contacts Commander Nemex, as he would want to inspect them himself. The striker bots then catch the Exo-Flex Xs and take them away from the shuttle.

Just then, the Nemesystems stormship approaches and connects with the thundership, which Blodger, M.E.R.C., and Loretta sees. Loretta assumes that Miles, Mirandos, and Haruna are doing great. However, they are still having difficulty controlling their costumes. They then see the Admirals hiding in the suit with two heads.

Nemex and Aggro are on their way to the lab when the hallway they see up ahead is very crowded, annoying Nemex. Aggro tells the control bots, nemetrons, defense orbs, and striker bots to move out of the way when Haruna's nemetron costume bumps into Nemex. Miles tells Aggro to move out of the way, which he and Nemex do. Aggro tells Nemex that that is what happens when robots are given too much personality.

As Miles, Mirandos, and Haruna keep moving, the nemetron presents Nemex with four priceless Exo-Flex Xs. Nemex remembers seeing the first model at the Galactic Fair's new technology pavilion. He wanted one ever since, and he has four. He wonders what is with the one with two heads. Aggro assumes that it looks like it's a mistake. However, Crick activates a button that knocks Aggro away. Miles, Mirandos, and Haruna see that. Crick then presses a button that makes its exo-fist almost catch Aggro. Nemex questions what Aggro is doing. He says that he has no time for games, and tells the nemetrons to load the Exo-Flex Xs into the stormship. Mirandos agrees, and Nemex notices the voice.

Miles, Haruna, and Mirandos take off their nemetron disguises, and meet the Admirals again. The Admirals can't get out of the suits, as wearing them is the only way off the thundership. Although the Admirals are not very good at operating an Exo-Flex X, they should follow Miles, Mirandos, and Haruna's lead, and they'll make it out.

They then make their way through the thundership, and confront striker bots. Mirandos, Miles, and Haruna deactivate some of them with their skills. The Exo-Flex Xs then continue to progress, however, Crick is flapping the Admirals' suit's wings, but Watson tells him to leave the arms alone. In doing so, the arms deactivate a striker bot. Miles tells Loretta that he, Mirandos, Haruna, and the Admirals are on their way with the Exo-Flex Xs. Loretta is ready.

Nemex and Aggro see the Exo-Flex Xs up ahead, and Nemex orders Mission Force One to stop. Miles, Mirandos, Haruna, and the Admirals activate their suits' drive mode; however, the Admirals are going backwards, but towards the door. Nemex and Aggro reluctantly get out of the way as the Exo-Flex Xs escape the thundership. Crick keeps things interesting with flapping the arms, so Mirandos and Haruna give them a lift. Nemex questions Aggro how he could let that happen. Aggro says that he did voice suspicions when the suit hit him, and confesses that it is all his fault.

In the Zenith, Miles apologizes to the Admirals for not getting their shuttle back. The Admirals tell Mission Force One that there is nothing to be sorry for, as that was a cosmic-tacular rescue. Since Nemex didn't get the Exo-Flex Xs, that is mission accomplished.

Trivia[]

  • This episode marks the second appearance of the Exo-Flex Xs after "The Galactic Fair".
  • Commander Nemex mentions the Galactic Fair event itself when he wanted an Exo-Flex X.
  • The place Mission Force One was in when they were called by Watson and Crick is the atmosphere of Planet Calpurnia. Its nearby planet Tetro is also seen, and both last appeared in "Attack of the Flickorax".
  • This is the first time two characters read the title card at the same time, and the only time for Watson and Crick. In turn, this is the first time a character not from Mission Force One says the title card.
  • This is the third time the Admirals needing to be rescued is the mission, following "Ride of the Quarkons" and "Galactech: An Admiral Rescue".
