"The Bad Neighbors" is an episode of Wander Over Yonder.

Synopsis

Peepers desperately tries to come up with a plan to save the galaxy from Dominator, while Hater obsesses over their jerky new neighbor.

Plot

Lord Hater and his minions have fled to Suburbon V to escape Lord Dominator and plan a way to take the galaxy back from her. While Commander Peepers is hellbent on trying to come up with the perfect plan, Hater is concerned with his neighbor across the street who still has not cleaned his lawn. He heads over to confront him and discovers that it is Emperor Awesome who is also on Suburbon V to escape Dominator, though he refuses to admit it. They get into a fight and Peepers comes out to tell them to stop fighting so that they can work.

Awesome retaliates by blowing his leaves onto Hater's lawn, which angers him to the point that he fires lightning bolts until the evening. Peepers comes out and tells him to sleep. In the morning, Hater walks Captain Tim and has him urinate on Awesome's tree, knocking it down. However, Awesome immediately puts another tree up and Hater and Awesome attempt to outdo one another, resulting in Awesome blowing up Hater's sound system as he plays guitar. Peepers forces Hater to come inside after they see what they assume is a moving truck. However, Awesome instead announces his intent to throw a party that will take up the entire block and he has invited all the villains minus Hater.

Peepers angrily forces Hater to sit and listen to his plan to defeat Dominator, which simply consists of a Rube Goldberg mousetrap. Hater likes it, but thinks that it would be better to replace Dominator with Awesome. Peepers angrily tells Hater that if he wants to get back at Awesome, all he needs to do is throw a better party. Peepers commands the Watchdogs to put together another party that actually manages to interest the villains. Hater tells Peepers that he "couldn't have done it better myself", making Peepers believe that Hater wanted him to get out of his funk, which he feigns. Now feeling empowered, Hater and his minions get into their ship and take off, but not before burning Awesome's house with their jet fuel.

Trivia

• Among some of Emperor Awesome's party guests are Dr. Screwball Jones, Kragthar, Sourdough the Evil Sandwich, Schmartians and Mandrake the Malfeasant which shows they escaped from Lord Dominator's capture somehow.
  • It could implied that the Rest of the villains (including Iggy Starbeam, Gentleman Tooth, Night Mayor, Knight Mare and O'Yojimbo) Most Likely escaped offscreen and presumably joined the party too.

Allusions

• The entire episode is likely a homage to sitcoms, complete with a laugh track.
