"The Ballad of Klimpaloon" is a song featured on the soundtrack for Phineas and Ferb: Summer Belongs to You!, but does not appear in the special itself. It was eventually performed in the episode "The Klimpaloon Ultimatum".
Lyrics
- Oh, oh, oh
- He stands in winter, he's striped and frozen
- He is completely out of style
- He got no hands, he got no feet
- All mouth and teeth, but he don't smile
- He's the magical old-timey bathing suit
- That lives in the Himalayas
- They call him Klimpaloon (Klimpaloon)
- All the sherpas think that he's just a fool
- Are you on a quest for a swimming pool?
- Tell me, Klimpaloon (Klimpaloon)
- Lives in the mountains (oh), the frozen mountains (oh)
- Unlived, unfriendly, and unmapped
- He's so short-sleevey (oh), more knit than weavy (oh)
- His lips are really, really chapped
- He's made out of wool, he's itchy to wear
- He's got broad stripes and savoir-faire
- He's out of place almost everywhere
- Since 1883
- He's a costume out of time
- Both ridiculous and sublime
- Seems innocuous, but I'm
- Afraid he's scaring me
- He's the magical old-timey bathing suit
- That lives in the Himalayas
- They call him Klimpaloon (Klimpaloon)
- If you're between Tibet and Nepal
- And you're quiet, you can hear the call
- Of Klimpaloon: (Klimpaloon)
- Nang-nang-nang-nang-nang-nang-nang-nang-nang!
- He stands in winter!
Notes
- This is the third song to start with the words "The Ballad of...", following Ballad of the Black Knight and The Ballad of Badbeard.
- A part of the song was heard in "Bullseye!" when Lawrence Fletcher was showing off his swimsuit, which was just like the one the Klimpaloon was wearing.
- The Himalayas are a mountain range between Tibet and Nepal. The most famous of the Himalayan mountains is Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world.
- The inspiration for Klimpaloon is a creature believed to reside in the mountain range often referred to as the yeti or abominable snowman.
- The Klimpaloon looks like a Naga, a stuffed animal made with naugahyde, which may explain how "nang", the word the Klimpaloon can say, came from or was based on.
- The version heard in the episode "The Klimpaloon Ultimatum" is at least 40 seconds shorter than the original version featured in the Summer Belongs to You! soundtrack with lyrics from right after "but he don't smile" and right up to "his lips are really, really chapped" edited out. (Then again, musical artists have performed shorter versions of their songs for television shows before, including awards shows such as the Tri-State Music Awards.)
