"The Best Time of Your Life" (sometimes referred to as "Now is the Time") is a song composed by Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman (collectively known as the Sherman Brothers) in 1974 as the new theme song for the Magic Kingdom's Carousel of Progress attraction, replacing "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", which served as the attraction's theme song during its run at the New York World's Fair from 1964 to 1965, and at Disneyland from 1967 to 1973.

In 1973, the Carousel of Progress closed at Disneyland in preparation for its move to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, as part of an expansion of that park's Tomorrowland. With the move came updates to the overall show, which had become increasingly outdated. The attraction's sponsor, General Electric, had felt that the original theme song had grown outdated as well and no longer represented their brand. According to Richard Sherman, one day a new GE president came in and he said to The Sherman Brothers: "I don't want to talk about tomorrows, I want to talk about today, I want to talk about what now is all about".

In 2004, an electronic instrumental version of "The Best Time of Your Life" was recorded as part of the Tomorrowland background area music that currently plays at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom, and Hong Kong Disneyland. A somewhat more updated version based on this same arrangement can be heard at Tokyo Disneyland.

Now is the time now is the best time
Now is the best time of your life
Life is a prize live ev'ry minute
Open your eyes and watch how you win it

Yesterday's mem'ries may sparkle and gleam
Tomorrow is still but a dream
Right here and now you've got it made
The world's forward marching and you're in the parade

Now is the time now is the best time
Be it a time of joy or strife
There's so much to cheer for
Be glad you're here
For it's the best time of your life
