The Big Sock is the first segment of the twenty-fifth and first Christmas episode of Disney and Xilam's Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life series.

Plot[]

While out scrounging for food and starving on a cold Christmas night, Chip stumbles upon a department store window that has a large animated display and sees Christmas stockings filled with nuts and candy. He excitedly tells Dale, who then becomes obsessed about finding a sock that would serve the purpose of a Christmas Stocking, finding a moldy old sock in the garbage. Despite Chip refusing to keep the sock, Dale persists and gets caught in a garbage truck with Chip going after him. Dale sits outside, with his sock hung upon a broken candle lantern waiting for Santa to give him his goodies while Chip finds some new friends who invite him to join their Christmas party inside the truck. Chip tries to convince Dale to come inside but his buddy refuses to leave his spot because he wants to see gifts appear in the sock. Eventually, Dale is frozen in a block of ice and throws a fit when his patience yields nothing, tossing the lantern out onto the street and grabbing his sock. Feeling bad for him, Chip sees a home with a decorated hearth and lots of stockings and decides to try to give Dale the chance to have a great Christmas by going in. Upon entering, the two hang their sock on the fireplace and despite waiting for a while, no gifts came. When Dale isn't looking, Chip decides to fill his friend's sock himself by taking the food and Christmas Crackers from the kitchen table nearby.

Unbeknownst to Chip, he was taking Donald's food for his Christmas party and the ill tempered mallard is not pleased with being robbed, resulting in a bit of hijinks that escalates into Donald trying to flush the two hiding chipmunks out of their sock by increasing the intensity of the flames in the fireplace. This melts the candy and eventually sets the sock on fire, something that Donald didn't want to happen and he races to get a bucket of water to put out the fire. He is relieved to find that both of them are safe, but their sock's contents are destroyed from the blaze.

In the spirit of Christmas, Donald forgives Chip and Dale and invites them to join his party, offering them food and drinks. The doorbell rings and Donald's party guests arrive: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and his three nephews. They all enjoy their feast and when Donald brings out a Yule Log Cake for dessert, Chip and Dale dive into it and have a food fight, accidentally hitting Donald. At first, the guests are worried Donald will go into a fit of rage but he calmly laughs it off and everyone else laughs with him. As the festivities continue, all the stockings are magically filled with treats and the episode ends with the silhouette of Santa Claus flying past Donald's home and into the night sky.
