"The Doc McStuffins Christmas Special" is the one hundred twenty-second episode of Doc McStuffins. It premiered on December 2, 2018, and is the third episode in the fifth season.
Hallie, Chilly, and Lambie discuss their favorite time of the morning, them and Stuffy surrounding Doc during her sleep. Donny tells Doc to wake up; it's Christmas. They then wake up their parents. Grandma arrives with the baby and wishes everyone a merry Christmas. Doc and Donny can go downstairs if they don't open anything. However, Donny sees that there are no presents under the tree and the cookies are still there because Santa didn't come. Donny tells the parents everything and Doc tells the same thing to the toys. Robot Ray then calls Doc, stating that there are many emergencies: Santa didn't come for anyone, including Agnes, who wanted a doll that she could love and who would love her. Doc decides for her and the toys to the North Pole and find out what happened to Santa. After Chilly mentions it, Doc decides to use her stethoscope's magic to go back the day before Christmas to find out what went wrong and save Christmas.
Doc and the toys then travel to the day before Christmas, where they make it to the workshop. Once inside, they see it dark and empty. Doc hears crying from Tobias the elf in a room. Everyone pries open its door. Tobias is delighted to see Doc and states that the power went out and the entire workshop is down, which is why toys can't be made. Also, Santa was on his last training run of the season when the power went out. Tobias would usually use the sleigh tracker to guide Santa in, but now it isn't working. Even if Santa finds his way back in time, the toys won't be ready. Tobias did get a robot together, but it quickly breaks apart. Doc states that even though she is a little girl and her friends are toys, that's never stopped them before. After Tobias mentions it, Doc and her toys decide to summon in more toys.
They then travel to McStuffinsville to gather the toys. Chilly rings the bell, summoning the toys. Doc tells them the bad news about Christmas possibly being canceled this year due to the power being down in the North Pole and so many toys left unfinished and boxed unwrapped. Doc states that if everyone works together, the job can be done in time. The only thing is that Santa is missing. Army Al decides to be Doc's volunteer for the search. The toys are ready to turn McStuffinsville into Santa's workshop to save Christmas.
They work on it, and Doc states that it will happen one toy at a time. Army Al decides to move out, although the mission is dangerous, to search for Santa. Later, Hootsberg tells Doc and Hallie that there is a stack of letters kids wrote Santa, asking for toys that haven't been made yet. Hallie states that work is being done in many different places. Dr. Tundra finishes work on a toy before doing the same to the teddy bear Kamau not yet stuffed with plush, for Theo. Hootsberg then gives Doc the chart for Agnes' doll, as well as Agnes' letter to Santa. Doc decides to scrub in on it, and she, Hootsberg, and Hallie make a new doll for Agnes. Hootsberg reaffirms that that was the last toy. Robot Ray then tells Doc that the search team hasn't found Santa yet. Doc is worried when Hallie tells her to never underestimate the power of a girl on a mission. Lambie tells Doc that the Christmas toys are ready in reception.
Doc then tells the toys about the incoming Christmas and bringing them to life. The toys are impressed about the town and the Christmas decorations. Doc tells them about a problem at the North Pole, and that every kid deserves a toy who loves them, no matter what. They then head to the wrapping stations and Doc tells the doll, named Caroline, that she's going to a very special kid named Agnes. Caroline is delighted to hear it. Later, the toys wrap all of the toys in their presents, but it doesn't matter because Santa is still missing. After Doc mentions it, Tobias tells her that she can be Santa and ride the sleigh to deliver the toys. Although Doc is still a kid, she gets motivated by Tobias and the other toys, and she decides to do the task. Dress-Up Daisy decides to change Doc's outfit so that it matches the Christmas theme. To get around the world in one night, Tobias brought along the old-fangled sleigh and backup reindeer, just in case. Stuffy decides to tame them and help save Christmas. He tries playing with them, only for one of them to be spooked and run away.
As Stuffy tries to get the missing reindeer, Doc appears with her Christmas outfit, ready to save Christmas. She and the other toys then try to get the sleigh to fly, and it does so when Stuffy says, "Yee-haw!" It is going so fast, however, and Doc is unsure if she can do this. The toys are supportive, and Doc tells the reindeer to save Christmas. Doc and the toys sing about having so many toys and Christmas almost here while dropping off the presents to different homes. They also wonder what Santa would do. Soon, all the presents are delivered to different places in the world. All that's left is Agnes' doll. Donny then wakes up and finds Doc before stating that he must have been dreaming and deciding to go back to bed.
With morning close, Hootsberg still hasn't found Agnes and while Doc and the toys head back to McStuffinsville, the other toys finish the Christmas decorations there. Tobias thanks Doc for saving Christmas, and the toys wanted to show her how much they love her. The toys then celebrate Christmas in the town, although Doc is still sad about Agnes' missing doll Caroline. Santa then arrives and thanks Doc for taking care of all of the kids while he was away. Santa knows where every kid is, even if they're having a hard year. Santa and Doc decide to make the last delivery together. After Agnes' present is placed under the Christmas tree, Santa drops off Doc and the toys to their home and thanks Doc for saving Christmas.
Everything goes the same way on Christmas morning except for the fact that all of the presents have been delivered underneath every Christmas tree, including Agnes for her Caroline doll, which she loves. Before Doc heads downstairs, she states that she is glad everyone is going to get a chance to have a group of toys and friends like hers. Donny goes downstairs and finds the presents under the tree, and Doc wishes the toys a merry Christmas.
This is the second Christmas episode in the series, as well as the second appearance for Tobias and Santa Claus in the series, following "A Very McStuffins Christmas".
This is the second episode to feature the song "One Toy at a Time", following "Doc's Busy Day".
