The Doctor is a 1991 drama film directed by Randa Haines and based on the 1988 memoir A Taste Of My Own Medicine by Dr. Edward Rosenbaum. It stars William Hurt, Christine Lahti, Mandy Patinkin, and Elizabeth Perkins.
Synopsis[]
A professional surgeon, known for his cold bedside manner, contracts cancer in his vocal chords. As he goes through the typical chemo-therapeutic process, his worldview begins to change as his eyes open to a more empathetic life.
