- This is the first real appearance of Balthazar Cavendish and Vinnie Dakota, unless one counts their cameos that appeared in certain reruns of the preceding episodes.
- The Doctor Zone Files is likely a homage to the BBC show, Doctor Who, and the show name is likely based on that, The Twilight Zone, and the Fox show, The X-Files.
- The present, which Doctor Zone has his hand in, is a similar shade of blue to that of the Tardis in Doctor Who.
- In the credits of the Doctor Zone Files episode, one of the roles is listed as "Wonder Llam". The name Llam is a running gag in Milo Murphy's Law.
- At least two of the characters in line outside the theater appeared in the same "Speckie" costume in the Phineas and Ferb episode "Nerds of a Feather".
