"The Eye on the Skullship" is an episode of Wander Over Yonder.
Synopsis[]
Andy the Watchdog interviews Lord Hater for his video blog but struggles with Commander Peepers as he's supposed to be on security camera guard duty.
Plot[]
Presented in the form as makeshift program, Andy the Watchdog, a surveillance watcher, addresses his audience for his show The Eye on the Skullship where he addresses the going-ons on the ship. He announces his intent to interview Lord Hater, but Commander Peepers calls in to tell him to get back to work because his show is dumb and Hater rejected the interview he requested, forcing Andy to continue with his usual coverage.
Andy goes down to the mess hall to ask the Watchdogs what they are eating to which all of them reveal that it is enchiladas. He is fascinated by this and interviews the cook who reveals that the enchiladas are actually composed of leftovers from Taco Tuesday the day prior and he did not want the beef to go to waste. He attempts to explain more, but Andy cuts him off.
Andy next goes to the training room to show how the Watchdogs train for combat, but to also potentially get a chance to see Lord Hater. The Watchdogs are revealed to have specific training to go up against the violent Sylvia and the kind and friendly Wander. The practice dummy is so good that even the drill sergeant is comforted by the fake Wander. As Andy attempts to glean more information from him, Peepers catches Andy and he is forced to flee.
Andy wanders the hallways of the ship and finds a Watchdog getting dragged out of his room by Hater's pet Captain Tim. He tried to interview him, but gets injured. Andy, now sporting a cast, is with his fellow Watchdogs to see Hater give a speech, though he cannot tell what he is saying. He apparently hears him speak of his love for Lord Dominator which angers Peepers. Hater then gets out a shirt cannon and fires it into the crowd. Andy is hit and discovers that the shirt says "I ❤️ Dominator" on it. Peepers catches Andy and flies into a rage.
Andy decides to host the remainder of his show in his surveillance room and interviews a Hater puppet, but gives up on it. Hater suddenly enters trying to look for toner for his printer. Andy finally gets him into an interview, but Hater uses the opportunity to instead announce his greatness and intent to conquer the galaxy. Andy then reveals that the show only broadcasts to those on the ship, causing Hater to denounce the his show as dumb and leaves him heartbroken.
Andy continues his job when Peepers suddenly calls him. It turns out that the Watchdogs love his show as it makes them feel special and they have created a strike against him and Hater to bring it back. Realizing that he only needed the support of the Watchdogs and not Hater himself, Andy continues his show as he interviews the ship's tailor. Hater and Peepers are shown watching it with both of them confused why Andy's show is popular.
