"The Fool" is one of the two deleted songs written for Disney/Pixar's 1995 animated feature film Toy Story. It was performed by composer Randy Newman. It was replaced by the happier-sounding "Strange Things".
Lyrics
(How blind the fool can be)
Am I a fool?
What you say I'm a fool?
(You're a fool)
Why must you criticize the things I do?
(Because you're a fool)
I have friends (You have no friends)
I have lots of friends (Not anymore)
They'd do anything for me
(How blind the fool can be)
What you say?
There was a time, I guess I had it all
I had it all
I was loved (He was loved)
No I was worshipped
But threw it away (Pity the fool)
And the one
I really care for
He no longer cares for me
(How blind the fool can be)
The road gets rougher
The further you go
Seem like life gets a little bit tougher
The more that you know
Or should I have done unto others
Like they have done unto me
Nah.
(How blind the fool can be)
Who you calling a fool?
(How blind the fool can be)
It's hurtin' me
(Pity the fool)
It's hurtin' me
(Pity the fool)
It's hurtin' me
(Pity the fool)
