The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together.
Obi-Wan Kenobi[src]

The Force is an energy field in the Star Wars universe; used by both the Jedi and the Sith for power. There are two sides to the Force; the Light side (or Ashla) and the Dark side (or Bogan). Those that harness its power, gain access to various psychic abilities and enhanced physical attributes. Users of the Force had the potential to have any ability it bestowed, though they needed to be skilled or powerful enough to use such abilities to better extent. Both the Light and Dark Sides of the Force are technically neutral. Individuals who possess the power or potential to use the Force are known as Force-sensitives, Force-wielders, or Force-users.

Most practitioners of the Dark side of Force are noted to become physically altered by the Dark side, with their eyes turning yellow with fire-shaped red rims, as well as orange or reddish. This alteration can progress through intense immersion in the Dark side's power and teachings, especially for extended periods of time, leading to the user becoming deformed, gaining a diseased, corpse-like appearance, such as Sheev Palpatine.

Although the Dark side of the Force has a corrupting influence, it does not necessarily turn the individual who is utilizing it evil, as that said individual can choose whether or not to become evil; for example, Palpatine who naturally had the potential for good, but he chose to give into his inner darkness, due to his desire for power, as becoming good or evil is a personal choice, for both Light and Dark side Force-users alike.

Manifestations of the Force

As seen in Star Wars Rebels, certain creatures have also been seen to have an affinity for the Force, such as the Convor, a type of bird. What this affinity is is not known. The Lasat species also can use their Bo-Rifles to tap into the Force's power, indicating that they have knowledge of it and can make use of it. In Marvel Comics' Star Wars series, it is revealed that a certain type of mysterious blue rocks originating from a sacred living mountain alive with the Force can grant individuals the ability to use the Force.

This ability, known as Stonepower, can further be strengthened in consuming thin slivers of these rocks, as discovered by Yoda. There also exist physical embodiments of the Force, such as the Bendu, who represents the center of the Force between the Light and Dark sides of the Force.

Other physical embodiments of the Force, each representing a different aspect (i.e.; the Father (representing order and balance) the Daughter (representing the Light side of the Force) and the Son (representing the Dark side of the Force) also once existed, but have since become deceased due to the actions of the Jedi, in particular, Anakin Skywalker.

Prophecies in the Force also exist; the prophecy of the Chosen One, an individual meant to bring balance to the Force was one of these, and was fulfilled when Anakin (the prophecy's focus) destroyed the Sith, bringing balance to the Force once more, the Force can also have a strong affinity to physical locations and objects as well as living creatures, which were known as Force vergences or nexuses. Such places and objects were commonly able to temporarily amplify a Force-users mental attunement to the Force, usually resulting in powerful illusions and visions.

Psionic Powers

Force Sense

LukeHasaVision-TESB

The Force gives its users with discipline and subtlety of mind an extrasensory awareness that the user can use to gain, analyze, and interpret direct, visual information about people, locations, or a physical event in the future, present, or past. Most Force sensitives are capable of varying degrees of extrasensory perception, such as precognition, retrocognition, intuition, telepathy, clairvoyance, remote viewing, psychometry, and enhanced empathy. The more skilled and powerful of these Force sensitives can sense and actively scan the minds, thoughts and emotions of others and the nature of memories that others around them are experiencing, as well as being able to mentally reach and peer deeper into their subject for a more thorough analysis. Their abilities allow users to sense the presence of others, especially other Force users and even track them. Blood relations can further enhance these abilities. Also, users could feel negative occurrences happening or sense that danger would personally effect the user in the future. Unfortunately, this awareness is limited and what information that is found is not always in full detail and in fragments. Those who where not skilled with their enhanced awareness would possibly not experience such vision or senses at all.

Alternatively, users can feel immediate danger in their present, usually when it is in their vicinity and can react to it quickly. This gives them instinctive reactions that allows them to easily dodge or counter danger. Sense abilities allowed Force users to immerse themselves in the environment, Which can allow them to use the Force to operate as their senses when their own physical senses are strained, blocked, or impaired. Such way resulted in Jedi learners where helmets that blocked their eyes and had them use the Force to see and react quickly during lightsaber training. This ability can be strengthened if users combine their powers with other users, thereby enhancing the clarity of their visions and their ability to interpret them. Additionally, visions of the future were known to happen while a user was dreaming, though this was rare for some.

In addition to this, when the Force was out of balance and the Dark Side went rampant, the result this was Light Side practitioners becoming diminished in power with these skills, as they would be rendered virtually unable to sense other Force sensitives across the galaxy, including Sith or other Dark Side practitioners.

Psychometry

Certain Force-users had the ability to deduce information about events, people, and places simply by touching the objects they held. However, this power could also prove dangerous, for using psychometry on a weapon could bring the person using psychometry closer to the Dark side of the Force. Jedi Master Quinlan Vos had an affinity for this ability during the time of the Clone Wars, using it for primarily for tracking. Rey seemingly utilized this ability when she touched Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber, resulting in her seeing a vision of the Knights of Ren slaughtering most of Luke Skywalker's Jedi apprentices.

Telepathy

YodaDistressed-ROTS

Such an ability allowed a user with discipline and subtlety of mind to mentally transmit or receive information to and from another. Force user, even from vast distances, including from one end of a galactic system to another. Blood relations, emotional attachment and a significant bond towards another individual can further enhance these abilities and the connection of individuals through the Force. Sensory abilities allowed Force users to better immerse their senses into their environment. Most Force users, through concentration and focus, are able to sense the thoughts, memories and emotions of others to a varied extent. However, Force users more skilled and capable with this ability are able to more invasively scan the minds of those close to them, though they can be sometimes be resisted by those with stronger minds and wills, as well as other Force users.

Mind Probe

Some Force-users can even forcibly extract and transmit information, thoughts, and memories to and from others minds. This technique came to be known as a "Mind Probe", which could only be resisted by skilled or powerful Force users, and possibly more mentally resilient people in general. Though not always the case, this form of telepathic intrusion was capable of causing the recipient to experience great discomfort, to the point of extreme pain, making it useful in torturing subjects that attempted to resist. In fact, this technique's invasive nature allowed it to potentially cause damage to, or even destroy the victim's mind, though this would depend on the user's level of power and skill in the Force, as well as how well their victim could resist them. Nevertheless, this would only serve to allow the user to better coerce or torment their victim into revealing information, as well as to incentivize the victim into compliance so as to avoid any permanent harm. However, as the two minds are linked, a person with a strong will and Force sensitivity not only had the potential to resist the probe, but use the link to probe the user instead, turning their mental attack against them.

Mind Trick

Star-Wars-R2D2-droids-screenshots-Obi-Wan-Kenobi-Alec-Guinness- 145546-23

Obi-Wan using the Force to control the mind of a Stormtrooper.

A form of mental manipulation, "Mind Tricks" are the hypnotic ability to influence and control weaker willed individuals using verbal ideas, orders, or suggestions, which the victim then repeats and then acts upon without hesitation. Some users could even control animals by reaching out empathically with the Force, though they did not need to use verbal ideas, orders, or suggestions. If the user used this power with others, they would be able to overwhelm and control the minds of people with strong wills. However, this variant was, if misused or prolonged, capable of not only causing great discomfort and pain for the subject of their mental attacks, but also ran the risk of damaging and destroying their mind, leaving them insane. A highly powerful and skilled can have full control over a victims thoughts, memories, perception, and emotions to an extent.

It is revealed in "Star Wars Rebels: Steps Into Shadow", that a Force-user does not need to verbally control their subject as Padawan Ezra Bridger managed to control the mind and body of a Walker Pilot to attack his fellow Stormtroopers from several yards away. However, this particular variant of the technique is derived from the Dark side of the Force.

Mental Sedation

Skilled users in the Force can use their mental abilities to sedate others telepathically. An advanced version of the Mind Trick, it allows a skilled or powerful user to command a user to become tranquil, dazed, stunned, or unable to act or feel. A user can even induce sleep in a victim and cause a victim to instantly collapse into unconsciousness. This ability requires focus, mental balance, and discipline, with the user also being mentally centered and calm. A user can remove panic from a victim with a command, as well as physical contact or a hand gesture.

Taming Beasts

Force users could utilize their powers to tame or mentally connect with various types of animals in order to control them or communicate with them. However, this power could only be mastered by fully opening oneself to the Force and letting go of one's inhibitions. Animals such as Reeks, fyrnocks, purrgils, and Tibidees were among the many animals Force-users could connect with. Some animals, such as krykna spiders, could not be controlled and remained dangerous to those who tried to connect with them unless they were seen through the Force for what they were, rather than with fear and apprehension. Skilled practitioners, such as Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus could understand the creatures they connected with, and would use the Force to communicate with them. Aligning with the Dark Side allowed for a user to more forcefully bend such creatures to their will, as demonstrated by Darth Vader, who managed to communicate with and control large animals.

Telekinesis

Luke Skywalker TESB 4

Luke using Telekinesis.

The general ability to move and otherwise exert force on physical matter without physical interaction and from a variable distance through force of will and mind. Those who use this ability could potentially manipulate even large starships in accordance to their mental strength and focus, which could be achieved by letting go of the distinction of the targets size, mass, or weight, though this was difficult for most users. The versatility, precision, accuracy, magnitude, intensity, and range of this ability depended on the user's own skill and natural limits.

Telekinesis allowed a user to apply great force on a target, usually used to lift or press against small to medium sized objects or mechanisms. This limitation may cause telekinesis to manifest as an extension of the users own strength, meaning all the strength they have may be used to telekinetically affect matter. It may also limits uses to short burst of strength, which amplified by will and awareness of a target, can cause great feats of telekinetic strength. For a sufficiently skilled or powerful practitioner, the size, number, or weight of the target did not matter, with some users being able to manipulate large structures with this power. It is utilized through intense concentration when a practitioner began using it, but it became much easier with time, learning, and practice. Particularly skilled practitioners of the ability were capable of affecting a target without being physically near them, though they were still required to know the target's location relative to themselves. This allowed a user to affect a target from another room, or even another planet, viewing the target only through a video screen or a hologram. With enough focus, or simply enough natural skill or power, this ability could allow a target to affect more than one target at a time, such as causing multiple objects to levitate.

The effect will always wear off eventually, much like the exhaust of stamina or endurance, and the user may be limited on how many times it can be used or how many targets it can be used on. As the target is influenced by mental effort and physical senses, the user may be naturally unable to focus upon multiple targets for long periods and may be unable to manipulate a target when out of line of sight or being unable to hear or otherwise have awareness of the targets presence or position in relation to themselves. The user was able to reach out and essentially lock onto a target through sheer concentration, picturing it in their mind if it was obscured or obstructed. But in doing so, they are left unable to perform other tasks in the meantime, including moving in most cases, as they are forced to divert much of their concentration and effort on that specific task, which could leave them vulnerable in dangerous scenarios such as open combat, lest they be interrupted and lose their hold on their target. The ability can also cause physical and mental stress and exhaustion, especially when using it on objects that are larger or heavier than the user or that have greater amounts of force already being exerted on it, such as falling objects or moving vehicles. The telekinetic abilities of the user could be enhanced by intense emotions such as anger or fear, which lessened the effort of maintaining hold on a targeted object or allowing a user to apply abnormally precise or extreme amounts of force beyond their limit.

Common and basic uses are summoning or repelling small objects, cease the mobility of a moving object, causing objects to fly or float in the air, causing objects to fly or float in the air, slow a fall from an otherwise dangerous height, and manipulating certain mechanisms, such as a door, without touching them. However, those who are stronger or more skilled with the ability naturally possess greater levels of precision and accuracy with their ability, allowing them to perform more delicate and complex tasks. This allowed for manipulating inner workings and controls of objects, telekinetically use controlling internal mechanisms, such as a power source, as well as other technological systems, including lightsaber controls, allowing for a user to keep the blade active without touching it.

The ability was also holds many combative applications, both offensive and defensive, allowing a user to violently manipulate a target and to attack opponents from a distance, though other Force users could potentially resist telekinetic attacks through their own power by actively using the Force to protect against such attacks. If opposing Force users are able to match the other's skill and power in the Force, they are more likely to defend against the other's abilities, which would force them to rely other means of attack, especially close-quarter combat or by weaponizing the environment, such as by launching objects at an opponent. Overwhelming an opponent's defenses during battle can allow a Force user a chance to strike using telekinesis, either to repel them or, if the opponent is weak enough, to restrain or otherwise incapacitate them.

During meditation, which drew forth a stronger and more direct connection with the Force, the enhanced state of consciousness could sometimes inadvertently affect one's surroundings, usually by causing surrounding objects, or even the practitioner themselves to levitate. In fact, some practitioners were so skilled and powerful that they could consciously resist gravity, inertia, friction and other physical forces to enhance their mobility, notably allowing them to slow their falls. It was still difficult for a user to sustain levitation on themselves or resist natural forces around them , especially for extended periods of time without being in a meditative state, which amplified their concentration and focus.

Force Push

Push dooku

Dooku telekinetically pushes Obi Wan away.

Telekinesis results in variants and used in an offensive or defensive manner. This technique, also known as Force Burst, Force Blast or Force Pulse can repel or potentially even damage the user's target, utilizing a physical impulse or explosive force in a single direction at a time, unlike its sub-variants Force Wave, Force Shockwave and Force Repulse, all of which are multi directional, but have different intensities. It could be used to varying degrees, from simply softly nudging and moving a target away from the user at varying speeds, to shoving and staggering them, to knocking them backwards or to the ground, to sending them flying through the air and causing disorientation or even serious injury. As such, the technique has the potentially to simply repel a target or directly cause damage to said target by applying enough force onto them. Using this power in conjunction with other Force users can enhance its effects beyond either of the participants natural ability. The ability is usually accompanied by loud rumbling or crashing noise, possibly due to expansion of rapidly heated air, just like thunder.

With practice, a sufficiently powerful and skilled Force user could increase the range and arc of the blast, creating a blanketed wave of physical force instead of a focused pulse. Oftentimes, the user must gather and expend a large amount of power and effort to increase the strength, potency, and potential damage of the telekinetic burst they are generating, which can leave them vulnerable to having their attack being interrupted by an opponent. Truly gifted practitioners could generate a concussive blast that would radiate from them for dozens of meters in all directions, detonating with the force of a conventional explosive.

However, the more explosive and destructive the force generated from this telekinetic blast is, the more uncontrollable the blast becomes. Subsequently, the damage done by the blast is far less precise and could result in unwanted collateral damage and casualties. Additionally, for most Force-users, rapidly releasing such a build up of energy can be straining and exhausting, which would serve only the most powerful and skilled among them as a last resort at best, should they be overwhelmed and surrounded. Furthermore, those that are not as powerful in the Force tend to only have enough telekinetic strength to stagger or shove a single target at a time rather than being able to more directly harm them, which would force them to use the technique sparingly, especially if the target possesses a large amount of strength, constitution, and size, as it would allow them to potentially resist the attack.

Darksiders can use the intensity of their emotions to create more powerful telekinetic blasts, especially fear, rage, desperation, and pain, which serves to fuel telekinetically-derived force they build up and release.

Force Barrier

Force users could shield themselves from incoming matter and energy with telekinesis, as well as to block matter and energy, resulting in a Force Barrier or Force Protection. It created an invisible field that was as strong as the users willpower and focus, as well as alertness. While not tangible and, usually, not airtight, these strong barriers could stop physical objects from hitting the user or anyone near them. Unfortunately, the barrier can be overwhelmed and penetrated by physical forces stronger than itself and can usually only protect against physical matter of almost any type, leaving a user vulnerable to many types of energy based attacks.

In combat, these barriers were capable of absorbing and defending against a wide variety of physical and some energy attacks usually physical forces weaker than itself. Force barriers were only used as defense and couldn't be used as a wall against attacks. Depending on the strength, concentration and awareness of the individual, if the user doesn't focus, the barrier could only withstand a few attacks before collapsing. Also, these barriers could be used as or transformed into a Force Repulse or Force Wave. At times, these barriers could take on a visible appearance of a blue or white field, as shown when Kanan Jarrus became one with the Force and was granted temporary enhancement to his power, right at the moment of his death.

Additionally, by actively using the Force on oneself, combined with the user's strength of mind and will, a Force user could increase their resilience to harm, especially to other Force abilities, a defensive technique known as Force Shield or Force Resistance. This typically allowed both strong and skilled practitioners of the Force to defend against another Force-user's attempt to restrain, throw, repel, mentally influence or evaluate, or otherwise affect or harm them with the Force. Most Force users are, therefore, less able to effectively use the Force on each other and tend to rely on physical attacks to break their opponents guard before attempting to use a telekinetic attack. However, those with sufficient enough skill or power in the Force could more easily overwhelm such defenses with less effort as well as make themselves practically immune to having their protection broken by others while actively using their power to protect themselves and negate attack, making them extremely dangerous in direct combat.

Force Grip

A usage of telekinesis to take physical hold of a target, usually an opponent, for the purposes of restraining them, controlling their movements, or, at higher degrees of intensity, even cause damage by exerting a harmful amount of force on the target, to the point of being able to crush bones or organs. In most cases, the user can seize their target with great strength, lift them off their feet and suspend them in the air, rendering them immobilized.

The grip was commonly applied to not simply levitate targets, but to exert physical force on a target to simulate physical contact. This allowed a user to grasp a specific part of their victim, such as the neck, or, potentially, to exert an equal amount of pressure on the entire body to better restraining and incapacitating them. although this could also be used to control the motor functions of an opponent. A skilled user would not restrict themselves to only the grip to subdue opponents, some would take the opportunity to simultaneously move an opponent over a fall, throw them a great distance in order to cause injury, pin or slam them into a wall or ceiling, or merely force an opponent to disable or drop their weapon, then follow with an attack.

Additionally, this technique is synonymous with Force Choke, which specifically aims for the neck of the victim to suffocate, choke, or strangle them, rather than constricting the entire body. Other such variations on the technique are Force Crush, which applies a damaging amount of pressure to a targeted object or person to cause them to implode, and Force Throw, which causes objects, and even people, to be launched toward a specific target or area at dangerous velocity. Among the most complex and rare abilities derived from the technique is Force Stasis, also known as Force Slow or Force Freeze, allowed its users to cancel out the motion of a target to not only reduce its speed, but at times, even suspend it in place. This ability is even strong enough to halt intangible targets, such as explosions or blaster bolts, keeping them momentarily stopped long enough for the user to relocate to a safer position or, in the case of blaster fire, aim it in another direction before the effect wears off and it resumes its course. However, such techniques required someone of immense skill and raw power in the Force to be able to use them in any capacity.

While most Force-users would require close proximity to and a live visual of their victim in order to perform the technique, the most powerful amongst its practitioners can apply their grip on any target whose location they are aware of and preferably, are able to in some way visualize, such as through a viewscreen or hologram. Due to the continuous amount of power needed to maintain hold of the target, it is usually required significant amount of effort, concentration and focus, with a greater spacial divide between target and practitioner making it only that much more straining. Maintaining the affect was usually easier for those who utilized dark, negative, or aggressive emotions, at the risk of being controlled by the dark side.

Force Choke

DarthVaderAnewHope

A variant of "Force Grip", it is a technique of telekinesis commonly used by dark side Force-users due to it's malevolent and brutal nature. It is used to grip, squeeze, or crush the neck and choke or strangle the victim with the Force, rendering them unable to act. Depending on the degree of power applied, the effects of a Force choke would result in either death, unconsciousness, or simply leaving the person gasping but still conscious.

The user did not need to squeeze or crush the neck or throat to do this, as they could simply restrict or block air ways and therefore restrict, disrupt, or even cease the victims breathing and speech, as well as quickly exhausting the victims remaining air, thereby suffocating them. On rare occasions, a users telekinetic grip could be used to inflict fatal damage to a victim after releasing them or be aimed to break the neck of the victim by bending, twisting, or crushing it with enough force. Sometimes, the person would be lifted off the ground by the neck, which can allow a user to more effectively restrain their target, as well as open said target up for another telekinetic attack. Therefore, once suspending a target in a Force Grip, a user is able to easily throw them great distances, slam them into a surface or at another target, or even pull them towards the user for a close-ranged attack. Using this ability is usually accompanied by loud rumbling like thunder.

The power is generally used at close range, but in rare instances the target could be grasped through the Force at a greater distance if they are seen through a viewscreen or hologram. Particularly skilled practitioners of the ability were capable of attacking victims with the ability without being physically near them, though they were still required to know where their victim was in relation to themselves. This allowed a user to affect a victim from another room, or even another planet, viewing the target only through a viewscreen or a hologram. It commonly required great amounts of concentration and mental effort to maintain hold of their victim, especially from a great distance. However, the effort of maintaining the ability could be lessened through the use of dark, negative, or aggressive emotions, which allowed the user to not even have to look at a target that was near them to hold them with the choke. Additionally, more powerful and skilled Force-users tended to be able to have hold of multiple targets at once, though usually up to two or three.

Energy Negation

DarthVaderHanSolo-TESB

Vader blocking Han's blaster bolts.

A Force user of highly advanced skilled and power had the ability to dissipate, absorb, deflect, harness, or redirect concentrated energy such as blaster bolts, lightsaber blades, or even Force lightning, with physical contact. Such abilities were called Tutaminis, otherwise known as Force Absorb, or Force Deflection, the latter purely entailing shooting the captured energy back or channeling it away completely. This ability can allow a user remove the magnitude and vectors of an energy that comes into physical contact with them. A user could touch or catch this energy with their hands and then manipulate it by either dissipating, deflecting, or absorbing it into themselves, the last effect could actually partly heal or otherwise strengthen the body to some extent or can be used to fuel the intensity and strength of one's telekinetic attacks, such as a Force Push. While some could be overwhelmed by the energy they tried to manipulate, others managed to control it. Some users could even convert the energy they held into another energy, such as turning a blaster bolt into electricity. Force lightning is one of the more difficult energies to deflect or dissipate due to its purely degenerative nature.

Sever Force

A Force-user can cut off his/her connection to the Force, as other Force-users cannot sense there presence, even when they utilized other force powers. According to Jedi Master Luke Skywalker; it is far more difficult to block out the Force than learning to feel it, as it took him years to master Sever Force.

Supernatural Powers

Force Storm

A rare and powerful ability of Force users to affect the weather and cause an atmospheric effect with conscious effort. This phenomenon took the form of powerful, localized storms from the sky strong enough to cause considerable destruction on par with that of large military starships. The capacity to have such an on the environment could only be wielded by being with an astronomically high affinity with the Force. The level of efficiency this ability can have also varies, either by the intent of its use or the level of power the user possesses. The Force ghost of Grandmaster Yoda only summoning a single lightning bolt from the sky to strike the Force tree on Anch To through concentrating and a gesture, while the Bendu, an entity that seemingly represented balance within the Force itself, was able to surround himself in storm clouds, with which he nearly decimated an Imperial army. Likewise, from several planets away, Sheev Palpatine was (possibly) able to cause a lightning storm that destroyed Luke Skywalker's Jedi Temple and killed the student inside.

Force Lightning

Palpatine-ReturnJedi

A Dark side power, this ability created or shot blue or purple electric-based from the hands or fingers. With its purely degenerative nature, the electricity could shock, deform, and otherwise severely harm the victim, with such harm potentially being fatal. The amount of intensity and force from the electricity could be determined by the user, who could use it to cause agonizing pain to the victim. It could simply be used to stun or knock out a target, as well as physically repel them in the same manner as Force push, all the while delivering an incapacitating shock to the target. Skilled or powerful Force users could deflect, absorb, dissipate, or redirect the electricity with physical contact, such as catching it with their hands. Lightsabers could also be utilized to deflect Force lightning and suffered no ill effects to their inner workings from deflecting it. Users who are sufficiently skilled in controlling their lightning's power can demonstrate greater feats with it, such as channeling it into surfaces as a wave of energy or causing it to ricochet off surfaces and people. Ancient Sith could employ Force lightning as part of Dark side rituals.

Physical Abilities

Augmented Vitality

Force users of any age can enhance their stamina, endurance, strength, and overall physical capabilities throughout their lives by using the Force, to the point where all or most users have naturally athletic and acrobatic abilities, even while disabled or elderly. These abilities remain potent with little or no physical maintaining, as they come from the Force. This makes them able to physically exert themselves for extended periods of time, though they can eventually become exhausted from the effort and need rest and sustenance. As previously stated, skilled and powerful users can possess unnatural vitality and physical abilities even in old age or while being severely crippled or otherwise disabled. Not even the degenerative power of Force lightning can weaken this vitality. While physical augmentation through the Force was a passive ability, its potency was strengthened by directly channeling the Force through one's body, though it was not possible to maintain the effect indefinitely, nor could a Force user permanently transcend their natural physical limitations. For most users, age and physical condition could hinder the potency of their ability to physically enhance themselves with the Force.

Augmented Strength

The ability for the user to generate far greater force through physical contact and exertion. Force users can use this, and even combine it with telekinesis, to jump several feet in the air, as in a Force Jump and to not be affected by a fall from an otherwise dangerous height or at great velocity. These abilities remain potent with little or no physical maintaining. Using telekinesis, a user can reduce or enhance their own momentum and motion, and therefore exert greater force. They can also use it to some extent in their attacks, to enhance their striking force, to the point were a skilled and powerful user could harness their power to strike or kick a target and send them flying backwards without much physical exertion. A skilled and powerful user can resist weight to some extent and can lift objects and people several times their own weight with ease. In addition, many skilled and powerful Force users can exert themselves for longer periods than normal while not being truly strained by effort. Intense, uncontrolled, and aggressive feelings such as distress, pain, anger, hatred, frustration, and rage could enhance physical and telekinetic strength and performance, but mostly for Dark side users and at the cost of awareness, reaction time, mental strength, and analytical thinking capabilities, as the user was overwhelmed by their intense and controlled feelings and unable to think clearly, resulting in overall poor judgment, especially in combat.

Augmented Speed

Obi-WanForceJump-ROTS

Force users can naturally have enhanced speed, agility, reflexes, dexterity, balance, equilibrium, coordination, and momentum. They need to develop such abilities through establishing a stronger connection to the Force. These abilities remain potent with little or no physical maintaining. This allowed for a user could consciously use the Force to temporality augment their mobility beyond their natural limits. Users are able to perform acrobatic and gymnastic feats with ease and develop the ability to do them by simply using the Force. A common manifestation of this ability was a Force user being able to propel themselves to inhuman heights and distances in a single bound. Their physical abilities allowed Force users to wield the lightsaber, a highly unwieldy weapon known for its odd balance due to the usually weightless blade and omni-directional cutting edge, with almost inhuman efficiency, as well as precision and accuracy, though both of these required a user that controlled their emotions and thoughts and did not give way to intense, aggressive, and uncontrolled feelings. Some users learned to use their mobility in conjunction with telekinesis, allowing themselves to consciously resist the effects of gravity, friction, inertia, and other physical forces, notably to lessen the impact of a fall, slow themselves down, or even to levitate and glide, which was commonly only possible through extreme levels of concentration through meditation.

Augmented Resilience

VaderStillClingingToLile-ROTS

Vader after suffering through his extreme burns is still clinging to life.

Users of this have great stamina, endurance, tolerance, and overall survivability. Physically, a skilled and powerful user is less vulnerable to physical damage and has a slightly greater resistance and tolerance to injury, stress, pain, sickness, exposure, lack of air, or otherwise harmful trauma, temperatures, exposure to harmful environments, or toxic substances, all the while still functioning normally and slightly undeterred. They could withstand and survive with the effects of such trauma, unsafe environments and abstinence for longer periods and with less recovery. They can withstand physical and mental pain and trauma and can even resist its effects if they are strong or skilled enough in the Force. A skilled user can still fight and act as if uninjured, despite great pain. Since Dark side users are empowered by strong and negative emotion, feelings of pain can actually make them stronger, both physically and telekinetically for a time, though it can also make them fight with less thought and make them vulnerable to more skilled users. In most extreme cases, users are able to survive for days or longer in isolation without sleep, shelter, food, or water by relying on the Force alone. A user was even able to influence the amount of air their body needed and survive without it for extended periods of time. Furthermore, a user could potentially use their resilience to withstand the vacuum of space and a complete lack of atmosphere for a limited time with little to no after affects. Despite this, a Force user could not become truly invulnerable or indestructible through the Force and a user could still be limited by their age and physical condition. As augmentation of one's own physical condition beyond their physical limits is temporary, users with natural physical weaknesses and disabilities are more vulnerable to harm and can be more prone to exhaustion, fatigue, and strain.
