"The Fright Before Christmas" is the first segment of the sixty-seventh episode of Vampirina. It is the first half of the seventeenth episode of the third season. It premiered on November 30, 2020.
Synopsis[]
Vampirina plans a spooky scare in the hopes of attracting Spooky Claus so that her family can enjoy a festive Transylvanian Christmas.
Plot[]
The Hauntleys are reciting a Christmas poem, and Vampirina is excited for Christmas tomorrow. The guests that are coming to the Scare B&B to stay with the Hauntleys are Nanpire, Grandpop, Aunt Olga, and Nosferatu. Boris then goes to sleep, followed by the rest of the Hauntleys. Gregoria mentions Spooky Claus, and Vampirina notices that she forgot about the most important part of Christmas. She then sings about what Spooky Claus does every Christmas. Demi states that it's okay, and Gregoria recaps the previous year's human Christmas. Vampirina states that the difference is the monster relatives coming, and it's her job to get everything ready for Spooky's arrival.
They then prepare for his visit quickly. First, they make Spooky Claus' favorite treats with Chef Remy Bones' help. Later, they decorate the Scare B&B so that Spooky can spot it from miles away. After that, Vampirina decides to mail Spooky Claus a letter, so that he knows that the Hauntleys moved to Pennsylvania. Gregoria suggests a delivery cat, but it is closed for the holidays. Vampirina then worries that Christmas will be ruined, but Gregoria and Demi remind her that Spooky Claus knows everything, and Vampirina agrees with them before everyone goes to sleep.
However, Vampirina still doesn't see Spooky Claus, and decides to check him just in case. However, she doesn't see any sign of him, and tells Demi and Gregoria of such. Vampirina hopes that Spooky Clause didn't come because she forgot to send him the letter or put out the spookies, as she hasn't been spooky enough. Gregoria mentions that life has been a little more beautiful than boo-tiful lately, and Vampirina decides to be extra spooky so she can make Spooky Claus' spooky list. She then turns out the lights, and when Demi and Gregoria search for her, she scares them. Demi and Gregoria praise the spook, and just then, the clock strikes midnight, meaning Christmas, but Spooky Claus still hasn't arrived. Vampirina worries that there won't be any gifts for the visitors, and without the usual monster fear and cheer that Spooky brings, it won't feel like Christmas.
Gregoria then mentions that she, Vampirina, and Demi can share the Christmas spirit. The holiday is about all of them being together as a family, and they can spread the cheer and fear. Vampirina decides for them to make Transylvanian Christmas themselves. They work a little too hard, and as a result, they make a mess. Spooky Claus then arrives, leaving presents around the Christmas tree. Everyone is delighted about it, and Spooky Claus wishes them a spooky Christmas. Later, the guests are delighted about the guests they received. Vampirina also receives a letter from Spooky Claus, stating that she should never worry about moving to a new house or being spooky enough to receive gifts. She did everything she could to make sure the Hauntleys had a wonderful Christmas together, and that's what counted all along. Spooky Claus will continue to be there as long as Vampirina continues to show the monster Christmas spirit. She then thanks Demi and Gregoria for never letting her forget about the Christmas spirit, and remembers that it is about being together. Vampirina then wishes everyone a scary Christmas to all, and to all a good fright.
