The Ghost of Christmas Past is the first of three ghosts that haunts Ebenezer Scrooge in The Muppet Christmas Carol, based on the A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

Physical appearance[]
The Ghost of Christmas Past is a very small ghost, so much so that Scrooge referred to her as a "child". The Ghost has a very ethereal body that appears to be made of glowing, light fabric. She has tiny human-like hands and a human face with wispy red hair, and large blue eyes, and additionally has a bonnet of some kind.
Personality[]
The Ghost of Christmas Past has the most innocent of appearances. She speaks in a calm, comforting, and child-like voice that presents a very wise outlook on Scrooge's life. Scrooge interprets her visions as a means of torture, but the Ghost explains that the torture is of his own making and that she is merely presenting things as are.
Trivia[]
- When the film was being developed, the role of the Ghost of Christmas Past was considered for Robin the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Scooter. Piggy would play Mrs. Cratchit, Robin would play Tiny Tim, and Scooter would be absent following the death of Richard Hunt.
- This is Jessica Fox's first acting role.
- This was considered one of the most difficult puppets to maneuver. The filmmakers initially filmed her in a tank filled with oil, but the flow didn't look right, forcing them to film her in a tank with water.
