"The Golden Egg" is the first segment of the sixteenth episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on April 11, 2011 alongside "Huddle Up!".
Synopsis[]
Skully discovers a golden egg, and Jake and his crew wonder what's inside. Jake and his crew venture to to Never Land to ask the Never Bird if the golden egg belongs to her, but she has no idea who the golden egg belongs to. Unknown to Jake and his friends, Captain Hook is determined to claim the golden egg for himself. As Hook tries to make his escape with the egg, he loses the egg and a large turtle who was resting on Never Peak makes off with it. Jake and his crew, accompanied by the Never Bird, follow the turtle all the way to Turtle Bay. Izzy retrieves the golden egg from atop the turtle's shell. She asks the turtle if the egg belongs to her. The turtle claims she has never seen the egg before, much to the discouragement of the young pirate team.
Captain Hook finally catches up to the young pirate crew and demands that they hand over the egg at once. The Never Bird tries to help keep the golden egg out of Hook's reach, but she gets captured as well. Hook and Mr. Smee attempt to flee by riding across the bay on a sleeping turtle. Smee suggests that they ask the turtle nicely to assist, but Hook refuses to listen to his first mate's advice, resulting in the turtle refusing to help the greedy captain, causing the caged Never Bird and the golden egg to drift away. Izzy quickly uses her pixie dust to rescue both the Never Bird and the golden egg. Captain Hook refuses to be bested by the puny pirates so easily, and he breaks out his Butterfly Net-Hook. He tries one last chance to capture the egg but, in the process, knocks another large turtle from the beach into the bay, washing Hook and Smee away.
With the threat of Hook gone, Jake and crew continue searching for the golden egg's parents when the egg hatches into a Never Land hummingbird. Suddenly Jake and his crew encounter a hummingbird couple who have been searching for their egg that rolled from their nest. With the baby reunited with its parents, Jake and his friends soon return to Pirate Island to place the gold doubloons they discovered in their adventure into the Team Treasure Chest.
Back on Never Land, Captain Hook is sulking that he doesn't have a golden egg of his very own when he notices one on the beach. Hook can't believe his eyes. Mr. Smee tries to warn his captain not to touch the egg. But Hook pays no attention to Smee's warning when an ominous ticking figure emerges behind Hook. Just as Smee feared, the egg turns out to be a crocodile egg belonging to Tick-Tock the Crocodile, who quickly chases Captain Hook away from the beach with Mr. Smee racing to his captain's assistance.
