"The Grass is Greenier" is a song featured in the My Friends Tigger & Pooh film, Tigger & Pooh and a Musical Too. In the film, Rabbit and Tigger, following an argument, have declared themselves mayors of their own sides of the Hundred Acre Wood. They sing this song expressing their irritation with each other and why things are better on their respective sides, with a couple of brief interjections from Piglet.
"The Grass is Greenier" was written and composed by Andy Sturmer and Brian Hohlfeld.
Lyrics[]
Tigger:
Our grass is greenier
Our scenery's scenier
Rabbit:
The beans in my garden are far more beanier
Tigger:
Bouncin' all day and the day never ends
Over here
Rabbit:
Over here
Tigger and Rabbit:
With me and my friends
Rabbit:
Our days are sunnier
Tigger:
Our jokes are funnier
All of the bees in our trees are honier
Rabbit:
Organized fun makes a day worry-free
Tigger and Rabbit:
Here with my buddies and me
Tigger:
We got no rules against flouncin' or fun
Bein' late's not the greatest of crimes
No
Tigger: (as Rabbit)
"Time to stop bouncin' now, Tigger, I mean it!"
Rabbit: Is that how I sound?
Piglet: Well, sometimes.
Rabbit:
Over here veggies grow in neatly spaced rows
And our weather is sublime
And you can be certain
That if we had trains
They would surely run on time
Tigger: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Our skies are blueier
Rabbit:
Our carrots chewier
Tigger:
Da bears dat reside on our side are Poohier
No rules to break, only ones you can bend
Tigger and Rabbit:
Over here with me and my friends
Tigger:
A mayor with stripes is chic, don't ya' know
Stripes give one dat certain zazing
Rabbit:
A mayor who might suddenly bounce on your head
Tigger: You say that like it's a bad thing.
Rabbit:
Jagulars, woozles, grints and gobloons
So much and so many to fear
Piglet: Ahhhh!
Rabbit:
Here's a list of reasons you should be afraid
Thank goodness it's safe over here, heh
Our birds sing prettier
Tigger:
Our cats are kittier
Rabbit:
You'll find at most times
That our rhymes are wittier
Tigger:
"No" is a message that nobody sends
Over here
Rabbit:
Over here
Tigger and Rabbit:
With me and my friends
Tigger:
Your bugs are bitier
Rabbit:
Your side's untidier
Tigger:
It's very well-known our side's bona-fidier
Rabbit:
One out of two happy squirrels agree
Ours is the side that you simply must see
Tigger:
The sun never sets and the fun never sleeps
A tigger in time, you and me and my peeps
Rabbit:
Over here
Tigger:
Over here
Rabbit:
Over here
Tigger:
Over here
Rabbit:
Over here
Tigger:
Over here
Tigger and Rabbit:
Over here with me and my friends!
