"The Illumin-Aliens" is the second segment of the sixty-ninth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on March 12, 2018 alongside "Sidekicks For Hire", and is the second segment of the fifteenth episode in the third season.
Synopsis[]
The team rescues aliens whose special abilities help thwart a Nemesystems plot.
Plot[]
A Nemesystems thundership seizes an unidentified starship. Everyone inside escapes in their escape pod. Back in the Zenith, Miles and Haruna are running when Zeno informs them about a call from Admirals Watson and Crick. With Mission Force One all present and accounted for, the Admirals tell them that they have received a strange SOS signal from deep space. That means someone is in trouble and the Admirals have traced the signal to a disabled starship near the Zenith. Crick tasks Mission Force One to rescue any crew that might be onboard the ship. Miles accepts the mission. The team then performs their signature catchphrase and activates their recruit suits' mission mode.
The Zenith then heads to where the disabled starship is. Miles is warned by Blodger about the signal being a trap, but restates the fact that ignoring a call for help isn't an option. The team arrives on the starship's coordinates, but all that is there is an escape pod that ejected from the disabled starship which is nowhere to be seen. Blodger assumes that somebody must have taken the disabled starship. Haruna then activates the ion trail filter and sees a trail heading towards the Canarian star system. Miles decides for the team to check it out later, and pulls the escape pod into the hangar.
The team then heads into the hangar to see who's inside. Just then, four glowing aliens who look friendly exit the pod. The aliens speak a different language, one that Loretta's Bracelex can't identify. However, she finds out that the name for the aliens are Illumins. The father Illumin is showing the team what happened to the Illumin family. The Illumin girl likes Blodger, and changes color based on her personality, just like him. The Illumins all change colors, as well. Blodger is tasked to find out where the Illumins live so Mission Force One can take them home. Blodger decides to show the Illumins around the Zenith, as well. Until then, the rest of the team decide to head to the bridge and follow the ion trail.
The Illumins tell Blodger their names, impressing Blodger, who takes them around the Zenith, starting with the room where Mission Force One hangs out, plays games, and eats. Blodger shows eating, and the Illumins do the same. Blodger then shows sleeping, and the Illumins do the same. Blodger tells them that this is home, and the Illumins say the same word. The grandad Illumin shows Blodger where the Illumins live. It is then revealed that the Illumins' home is their ship, which they miss a lot. Blodger decides to get their ship back.
Blodger then heads to the bridge with the Illumins and tells Mission Force One that the Illumins' spaceship is their home. This is not good because the ion trail the team followed belongs to the Nemesystems thundership. Mirandos assumes that the thundership must have seen the Illumins' broken down home ship and towed it away, leaving the Illumins adrift in an escape pod. With the Zenith getting too close, Blodger activates the ship's invisitech. Loretta, Mirandos, and Haruna will go directly to the thundership to turn off its trap beam. This will allow Blodger and Miles to fly the Illumins' hope ship away. M.E.R.C. is tasked to stay aboard the ship with the Illumins. Blodger reassures them that Mission Force One will get their home ship back.
Mirandos sees that the trap beam controls are on the outside of the ship. While Loretta writes a shutdown code, a control bot sees a security breach. The nemetron orders the striker bots to stop Haruna, Mirandos, and Loretta to no avail. Loretta completes the shutdown code just as Miles and Blodger enter the Illumins' home ship, exciting the Illumins.
The nemetron sees this, and orders the control bot to follow the Illumins' home ship. The rest of Mission Force One heads into the Illumins' home ship. Miles and Blodger then initiate the ship's thrusters with the thundership and the Zenith giving chase. The nemetron and the control bot activate the shutdown beam, causing the Illumins' home ship to go crashing onto a planet.
With the home ship seriously damaged, the nemetron orders the strikeships to descend to the planet and recapture the ship. Mission Force One decides to take the fight to the skies. They decide to launch the techstops into the ships' intake ports to deactivate them all. Just as the team celebrates, the thundership approaches along with many more strikeships. Mission Force One is not backing down. Just then, a dark blue cloud appears and the Zenith emerges from it. The Illumins are making the cloud, and they make their way to the strikeships while being angry, hence their red color. The Illumins then create a thunder cloud, making thunder that deactivates all of the strikeships.
As a result, the nemetron is forced to abandon the mission, as stealing one starship is not worth that much trouble. Miles says that that is mission accomplished. Miles thanks the Illumins for their help, and the Illumins say the same for helping Mission Force One get their home ship back. The Illumins then head back to their home ship, and instantly get it working again. Loretta says that even though the Illumins seem very different from Mission Force One, they're actually a lot like them. That is what keeps everyone all connected.
