"The Joker" is the first half of the fifteenth episode in the first season of Stanley.
Summary[]
Stanley wants to be as funny like his friend Marci and tries to tell a joke to his classmates. He is very disappointed when he realizes that nobody finds his joke funny. Dennis thinks he may not have the right audience and so they are going on an adventure trip to Australia, because there is supposed to be one bird, the Kookaburra, better known as the "laughing bird".
Plot[]
Stanley and the twins are playing in his backyard, in which Marci is chasing the two while pretending to be a lion. Marci begins to tell jokes while chasing them, which makes them laugh. Afterwards, Stanley’s dad calls him inside.
Meanwhile, the twins become a bit concerned about Stanley. They think he might be upset that nobody laughed his joke (not even Lester). So they both make their way over to his house to see him. They head upstairs to his room where Marci knocks on the door. At that moment, Stanley and Dennis hop out of the book, but the kookaburras swam in as well and start flying around. Stanley and Dennis hide under the computer desk while the birds go over to his bucket of plastic snakes and proceed to drop them all on the floor (as they do before eating them). With all the snakes raining down, Stanley heads over to the book and manages to close it up, sucking the birds back in.
Outside the room, Marci knocks again and Stanley lets them in the room. Upon letting them in, Stanley begins to tell them what happened, which the twins find very fascinating. At first, Stanley is confused, but the twins explain that they like to listen to his stories, which makes him feel proud. He then proceeds to tell them about his adventure with the kookaburras.
