"The Journey" is the first episode of Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles. It is also the only episode of The Goliath Chronicles that is considered canonical to the original series, and was later adapted as the first two issues of the comic book.
Synopsis[]
The public is now fully aware of the Manhattan Clan's existence, leading to the rise of bigots who hate the clan for simply existing. The only Hunter of his siblings to continue the hunt, Jon Canmore, changes his name to John Castaway and begins recruiting people afraid of the gargoyles with lies of them being evil. This ultimately leads to him founding the more-insane Quarrymen, who seek to murder the gargoyles in their stone sleep. And thus begins a hunt throughout Manhattan, where the Quarrymen smash every gargoyle they can find in the chance that it's real.
Goliath and Eliza end up cornered in the former clock tower by John and the Quarryman who appeared in "Vendettas". However, once seeing that John is insane by threatening Elisa as well, one of the Qaurrymen defects and decides to head to Grattamala, believing it free of gargoyles.
