"The Junk Monster of Planet Crunkle" is the first segment of the sixty-third episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on November 13, 2017 alongside "The Lost Empire", and is the first segment of the ninth episode of the third season.

Synopsis[]

Chunks of tech self-assemble into a junk robot and take over the recycling center!

Plot[]

The episode begins with a star sweeper heading to Planet Crunkle for space junk drop-off. One of the things the star sweeper drops is a scepter, and when it lands, it assembles lots of junk to form a junk monster. In the Zenith, Admirals Watson and Crick tell Mission Force One that they have been alerted to some very bizarre activity on the planet. Mission Force One likes the planet, however, the Admirals say that it is not very globular today because of the junk monster. The Admirals bring up footage of the junk monster roaming the planet, scaring Crick. The Admirals say that the junk monster has somehow formed on Crunkle and it is also preventing star sweepers from making their junk deliveries to the planet. As a result, space junk must be piling up all over the galaxy. The Admirals tell Mission Force One that their next mission is to go to Crunkle and shut down the junk monster. Miles accepts the mission before the transmission ends. The team then performs their signature catchphrase and activates their recruit suits' mission mode.

Mission Force One then heads to Crunkle. Miles, Blodger, and M.E.R.C. take the red space jet while the others take the yellow one. Miles tells Haruna that landing in the fog should be easy if they take it slow. However, the junk monster punches both space jets, causing both to have crash landings. Everyone is all right. Miles says that the impact took out the space jets. The junk monster then approaches, and Mission Force One hides. When it finds the team, they scatter away from it. Blodger hides behind junk, and a trashvalanche causes it to fall all over him, slightly damaging his blast jet. The junk monster finds Mission Force One just as Queen Gemma arrives, telling them to come with her if they want to escape.

When everyone hides, Loretta thanks Gemma for helping Mission Force One get away from the monster. Gemma is on Crunkle because she is after her scepter, which was thrown into the trash. Gemma tracked her scepter to Crunkle when her shuttle was swatted out of the sky by the monster. Gemma stated that the creature is created because it is powered by her scepter.

In her damaged ship, Gemma tells Mission Force One that there is more to her scepter. When it is turned on, it can control nearby technology in order to protect itself. Mirandos assumes that the scepter formed a junk monster to protect itself. Gemma has yet to succeed in getting close enough to turn the scepter off. This is where Mission Force One can help, and set their goal in finding and turning off the scepter inside the junk monster. Gemma likes the idea.

Mission Force One and Gemma then make it to where the junk monster is. They then go after it, but no matter what they do (Holo-hexes, taking one of its arms, making it self-destruct), the junk monster always re-assembles. When a wrecking ball attaches to the monster and starts rotating, Mission Force One and Gemma are forced to retreat.

Miles tells Gemma why she would throw away something as powerful as her scepter. Gemma didn't do so, some blue-haired scoundrel did, when he took over Planet Dethalia, and banished her. Miles notices him as Commander Nemex from Nemesystems. Loretta shows a display of him, and Gemma notices him. Miles says that Nemex's goal of controlling the universe includes taking over Gemma's planet. Gemma plans to get her scepter back, as it could give her a fighting chance at reclaiming her empire.

Just then, the junk monster finds Mission Force One and Gemma again, and they quickly leave. They land behind a starship. While Miles thinks about what to do to get the scepter, Gemma says that if she were queen of Crunkle, she would toss the monster behind bars. This gives Miles an idea about caging the monster so it can't re-build itself. This will make it easier to turn off the scepter. Gemma likes the idea, as well, and the team decide to construct a trap with Gemma watching on.

Mission Force One then finish building the trap, which Gemma likes. Afterwards, the junk monster approaches again. With the cage set, Haruna slingshots Blodger to distract the junk monster. Mirandos and Loretta let go of the cage, but the tether gets stuck. M.E.R.C. takes Gemma to the tether to loosen it, trapping the monster in the process. Miles then finishes the task by finding the scepter and taking it away, causing the monster to destruct.

Miles then returns the scepter to Gemma. Gemma says that Miles has a fine team, and thanks him for everything. Gemma says that she shall return to Dethalia and retake her empire. Miles says that one of Mission Force One's jobs is to connect the universe. Miles tells the team that their next mission is to help return Dethalia to Queen Gemma. They accept the mission. Gemma tells Miles that the working as a team business is really starting to work on her.
