"The Kooky Paleontologist!" is the first segment of the forty-first episode of Mickey Mouse Funhouse. It premiered on August 18, 2023 alongside "That's My Jam!", and is the first segment of the sixteenth episode in the second season.

Plot

Von Drake whisks the gang off to Prehistoric World to find hot lava to repair their game.

Synopsis

The episode begins inside Funny, where the gang is watching Donald play the Zany Mulaney Dance Game when he accidentally breaks the controller. Funny decides to call Kooky Scientist Von Drake from Halloweenville to fix the controller. He arrives and takes immediate curiosity as he begins investigating the funhouse. He notices the broken controller and declares that he can fix it, but needs hot lava to do it. Funny says that they can find hot lava in Prehistoric World, so the gang, including Von Drake, departs.

Upon arrival, Von Drake once again takes immediate curiosity to investigating the world before meeting Tea Top and Tillie. He decides to have the Triceratops lead them to the volcano where they can obtain hot lava. While the gang continues, they run into a dead tree blocking their way. Tea Top communicates to Von Drake that they can shove the tree into a nearby chute. The gang does so, but the impact of the landing causes a boulder from a nearby mountain to roll towards the gang, causing Tea Top and Tillie to save them. The gang then reaches the volcano, but the hot lava seems to have cooled into stone.

Von Drake notices that Tea Top is trying to tell them something. He takes Mickey's communicator and improvises and attaches it to Tea Top, allowing the dinosaur to actually talk to the friends. He leads them to a hot lava river. Von Drake collects a small sample and uses it to fix the controller, even making look like a dinosaur. The gang prepares to leave while Von Drake decides to stay and investigate more about Prehistoric World. Soon, the gang arrives back to Funny, having learned that curiosity can lead to making new discoveries. The episode ends with Funny producing a souvenir to remember and Mickey and Minnie waving goodbye to the viewers as everyone else leaves.
