The Laughin' Place Band is a musical band of critters that are featured in the attraction Splash Mountain at the Disneyland Park.
History[]
Development[]
The Blossom-Nose Murphy, rooster, and Saddlesore Swanson characters were created in the former America Sings attraction which was created for the America Sings attraction at Disneyland in the Tomorrowland section where they were placed in the "Heading West", "Gay Nineties", and "Modern Times" sequences where Saddlesore Swanson would sang the song, "The Old Chisholm Trail", Blossom-Nose Murphy would sang the song, "Sweet Adeline", and the rooster would sang the song, "See You Later, Alligator" which opened on June 29, 1974. However, America Sings closed on April 10, 1988 in order to retheme the attraction to Innoventions, resulting in most of the animatronics moved to Splash Mountain (the rooster repurposed as "Br'er Chicken") at the Critter Country section, which opened on July 17, 1989.
As of 2020 due to Splash Mountain being completely reimagined into a theme inspired by The Princess and the Frog in order to remove references to Song of the South, it is currently unknown of what will replace the band's animatronics in the rethemed version of the attraction. The California version of Splash Mountain permanently closed on May 31, 2023.
