The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl is a concert film that was released on Disney+ on February 7, 2025. The film is an edited taping of The Lion King: A Live-to-Film Experience at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, which was performed on May 24 and 25, 2024 as part of the franchise's 30th anniversary.
The concert at the Hollywood Bowl celebrated a special two-night anniversary of the 1994Disney animated feature film The Lion King with members of the original film and the Broadway adaptation reprising their roles from the film on the stage. In addition to the film and musical, the concert also included footage from the 2019remake as well as footage from the 2024 follow-up, Mufasa: The Lion King also part of the show including songs from several installments including one from Mufasa as well as interviews with people who were involved in the franchise.
On January 14, 2025, it was announced that the Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl was unveiled on February 7 premiering exclusively on Disney+, eight months after the event performed at the Hollywood Bowl and seven months after the original film celebrated its 30th anniversary.[1]
