"The Lion in the Moon" was a deleted song from the film Lion King that was supposed to be sung by Sarabi to Simba after him and Nala escape the hyenas. Sarabi calms her son with a lullaby about a spirit that watches over them.

After Mufasa escorts his son Simba away from the Elephant Graveyard after escaping the Hyena Clan, he takes Simba home and encounters Sarabi who fears that he still has hyenas bothering him in his mind to which his mother sings him a lullaby to calm him, explaining to Simba to not fear about them.

- This sequence was replaced with Mufasa teaching Simba about the Great Kings of the Past in the final version of the film.
- The song itself is a tender, lullaby version of "Circle of Life".
