The Mandalorian and Grogu is an upcoming American space western film. It is directed by Jon Favreau and co-written by Dave Filoni and acts as the "fourth season" and follow-up to the television series The Mandalorian. It is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2026.
Synopsis[]
The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu.[1]

Production[]
The film was announced in January 2024, would be a theatrical release.[6] During the Q1 earnings call on February 7 that same year, Bob Iger confirmed that the film would be released sometime in 2026.[7] Later that day it was confirmed that it would be released on May 22, 2026.
Filming began on July 2024, in Los Angeles.[2]

- It was reported that the working title for the film was "Thunder Alley".[8]
- The film's teaser poster was parodied as "The Pandalorian & Grogu" in the 2025 Walt Disney Animation Studios film Zootopia 2.
