"The Monster and the Queen" is the second segment of the sixty-ninth episode of Star vs. the Forces of Evil. It premiered on April 21, 2019 alongside "A Boy and His DC-700XE", and is the second segment of the thirteenth episode in the fourth season.
Synopsis[]
Eclipsa has a date with Globgor.
Plot[]
Star is writing in her journal in her closet of secrets when she is bothered by Glossaryck rummaging through her stuff. When he bluntly tells her that he is not the only one to have done so, Star realizes that the piece of the Spell Book is missing. Elsewhere, Eclipsa sneaks out of the castle through the underground moat and runs into Globgor who, contrary to what has been said about him before, is actually a nice and jovial individual who is lovingly devoted to Eclipsa. He displays his ability to grow and shrink in size as they play in the fields of Mewni and sing a song together. Globgor continues to make jokes about eating people, but makes it apparent that he is no longer interested in doing so as Eclipsa taught him to.
They finally arrive at an open field where Globgor supposedly left a picnic for them. He angrily blames it on miners and attacks a mine, only to reveal that he was messing around and presents a giant red diamond to Eclipsa, who was slightly bothered by the jest. Globgor reveals that he is aware that the world they are in is not real for two reasons: there are no Mewmans in broad daylight and there is a cartoony character from his childhood named Bananahat Musclewhale floating in the sky. Eclipsa tells Globgor about their daughter Meteora, much to his delight, and that she has a spell to free him from Rhombulus' prison, which involves removing a ribbon from a rooster's beak to let it crow. While happy, Globgor admits that it is impossible for the people to still accept him and Eclipsa solemnly agrees to keep him frozen for now.
Eclipsa is shown using a spell to feed her mental image into Globgor's still frozen body. As she floats down, she is greeted by an angry Star who deduces that she found the book piece and has had it stitched back together. She is relieved to learn that she is leaving Globgor imprisoned, but is upset over being violated by her (she had used a spell to get inside her head). Eclipsa sarcastically comments that the people of Mewni do not care about her as she never had a coronation. Star decides to give her one just to make her happy and they mutually agree.
