"The Mystery Pirate!" is the first segment of forty-ninth episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on May 10, 2013 alongside "Pirate Swap!", and is the first segment of the twenty-fourth episode in the second season.

Synopsis[]

In Neverland, Cubby tries to crack open a coconut to make a milkshake. It proves to be difficult for the young pirate, so Jake offers to assist, using his sword to crack it open. But as he is about to swing, a mysterious figure in a black mask snatches it out of his hand. The crew sees the Mystery Pirate's grace and skill, and realize it couldn't be Captain Hook, so they chase after the Mystery Pirate.

Meanwhile, Hook and his crew are trying to find their way back to the Jolly Roger. Suddenly, the Mystery Pirate swoops in, pulls Hook's hook right off his arm, and uses it to zip down a rope. Jake and the crew offer to work together to reclaim their belongings.

As the chase went on, Hook's crew think they see the Mystery Pirate up ahead, but Jake thinks it looks kind of wobbly. Hook and his crew discover a decoy of the Mystery Pirate and get scooped up in a net.

After getting out of the net, Hook accepts Jake's offer to work together. Both crews take a raft down a river, but the current begins to sweep them toward a waterfall. Hook gets an idea: he uses his "fishing-rod hook" to hook a nearby tree and pull them to shore. Everyone pulls with him, and they make it safely to shore. The Mystery Pirate tries to get away, but Izzy sprinkles pixie dust to catch the Mystery Pirate. The Mystery Pirate is revealed to be Mama Hook. It turns out that she only took Hook's hook and Jake's sword as part of her plan to show Cap'n Hook that it's better to work together with others.

  • Jake and his crew collect ten gold doubloons.
  • The episode marks Mama Hook's fourth appearance in the series.
  • This is the third episode Jake's sword was stolen, the first by Captain Hook in "The Sword and the Stone" and briefly by Blinky the chameleon in "Mr. Smee's Pet".
  • This is the second episode Captain Hook point out the emergency and asking Izzy to use her Pixie Dust since "Hook and the Itty-Bitty Kitty".
