"The Nemesystems Takeover" is the seventy-fifth episode and the series finale of the Disney Junior animated series Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on September 10, 2018 and is the twenty-first episode in the third season.

Synopsis[]

When Nemesystems overthrows the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Mission Force One must find a way to take it back.

Plot[]

A Nemesystems escape pod controlled by Aggro and a control bot is following the Zenith, and Aggro activates the pod's Invisitech when it gets close. After being told by Aggro, the control bot sends in the Overrider, which deactivates the Zenith's hatch's system to open the hatch and head inside.

In the living room, Mission Force One is getting ready, and Haruna gives Miles a suggestion on the latter's acceptance speech, stating that Mission Force One would never get the job done without Haruna. Miles says that the award is for the entire team. Loretta tells Blodger that no one has received it before, as the Sprit of Connection Award is brand new, and Miles says that it recognizes Mission Force One's success at connecting and protecting lifeforms all over the galaxy, which the team is great at.

Phoebe and Leo call from Mars, as they are looking for the TTA's newest honorees. They tell Mission Force One that they will be on their way to the ceremony as soon as the repair bots fix the Stellosphere, which will take ten minutes. After the call ends, Zeno tells Mission Force One that they will be at the Tomorrowland Mission Center for the ceremony in five minutes, and there is no pressure. The team runs around excitedly, not noticing the Overrider in the ship.

At the Mission Center, Admirals Watson and Crick bicker about telling the robots to place the banners higher or lower. Mission Force One's robot pets then arrive, and are thanked by the Admirals for coming early to help set up. Following this, many guests start to arrive.

Silas then appears, and is told by the Admirals to greet everyone and to give everybody attending the ceremony a Mission Force One Pin, which he accepts. Silas first gives them to Maya and Kofi Kitumba, and tells them that Mission Force One is very lucky to have the TTA support them in everything they do.

The Zenith then passes by Jupiter. Moments later, the Overrider heads into the engine room to take over the ship's engines, causing it to change course to the far end of the galaxy. Mission Force One immediately realizes this, and heads to the bridge. Zeno tells Miles that some unknown technology is overriding his engines, and he can't stop it. Miles sees that the steering is not working, as well. Blodger realizes that the team is on a runaway starship. Mission Force One decides to head to the engine room to shut down the engines manually. In the escape pod, Aggro tells Mission Force One that it's too bad they're going to miss their award ceremony, and believes that he needs an award himself. The control bot also thinks that Aggro does a good job.

In the engine room, Mirandos realizes that the power won't shut off. Loretta then sees an Overrider, which Tomorrowland labs invented to take over any technology made for shutting down enemy ships. Miles sees that that one was stolen by Nemesystems, who is behind this. He then decides for Mission Force One to do whatever they can to stop the Zenith, even if it means taking its engines apart completely.

In the escape pod, Aggro tells Commander Nemex about the Overrider working just like he said it would, and that when the Zenith's engines finally burn out, Mission Force One will be far, far away. Nemex is delighted to hear this, and announces that his plan to take control of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority can now begin.

The plan begins on Mars. There, Phoebe tells a repair bot if the Stellosphere is ready yet when she and Leo realize that all of the robots have been deactivated with techstops. A nemetron then appears with defense orbs, who freeze-tag Leo and Phoebe. The nemetron tells Leo and Phoebe to not be alarmed, as it's just as if they're asleep.

It continues at the Tomorrowland Mission Center. There, everyone attending is wondering where Mission Force One is when the Nemesystems stormship appears. Nemex then introduces all members of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority to him, and announces that everything that the TTA has built, reached, and connected is now under his control. Aggro then appears, stating that he and Nemex are their bosses.

Nemex is taking everything from the TTA: starships, colonies, labs, charging stations, and, of course, the Mission Center, now known as the Nemesystems Mission Center. The Admirals, Captain Joe, Commander Copernicus, and Lieutenant Luminix don't believe this. Nemex then reveals that the pins everyone is wearing are also Nemesystems freeze-tags, which get activated, freezing everyone. The stormship then attaches itself to the Mission Center, taking it for Nemesystems, while Nemex announces that the Nemesystems future begins now.

Back in the Zenith, Mission Force One takes apart the engines, but the ship still isn't slowing down. Zeno tells the team that they're heading straight towards a star, meaning that they need to jump ship. Mission Force One takes Zeno with them, and Miles tells all space jets to auto launch and meet the team outside.

Mission Force One abandons the Zenith, but the star's gravity is pulling on them. Only the red space jet makes it out of the Zenith before the ship heads into the star. Mission Force One grabs hands while Miles uses his tether to attach himself to the jet, which then stops. The team is heartbroken about the Zenith being gone. Mirandos doesn't know where the team is, as there is no signal. Miles decides that the only thing Mission Force One can do is to cram in the space jet, head home, and figure out why Commander Nemex did this to them.

In the space jet, the team realizes that with the small engines, it will take them at least a day to get home, and they'll need to find a charging station on the way, or they won't make it at all. They then set course for the Phantasmos moon, which is where the nearest charging station is located. Once they make it there, however, they see that Nemesystems took over the charging station. A nemetron calls Mission Force One, informing them that they are trespassing on Nemesystems property and that their ship will be flash beamed in six seconds. Mission Force One exits the ship before it gets vaporized.

Once the nemetron realizes that the intruders are Mission Force One, Mirandos solidizes a trap coil and catches the nemetron with it. Since the nemetron won't tell Mission Force One anything, they will get their own answers. In the charging station, Loretta tells the team that she wrote a code to get her into the main TTA security system. They now have access to the security cameras at every TTA facility, including the Mission Center, which has been taken over by Nemesystems, upsetting Mission Force One. Loretta shows that everyone who has been freeze-tagged is in the starship hangar. Miles then assigns Mission Force One on a new mission, which is the most important one of their lives, that being to take back the TTA, starting with the Mission Center. The team then performs their signature catchphrase and activates their recruit suits' mission mode.

As Mission Force One leaves with the TTA shuttle, Haruna removes the Nemesystems logo from the shuttle before Mirandos plugs Zeno into the shuttle. Zeno says that going from the Zenith to the little transport ship is like his clothes just shrunk. Miles welcomes Zeno aboard and tells him to hold on to his boosters before the team heads back to Earth to take back the TTA.

The trapped nemetron tells Commander Nemex that Mission Force One just left Phantasmos in a stolen transport ship. Nemex is not surprised, since it was Aggro's job to make sure they were sent far away. Aggro says that he will fix it, as he'll send some strikeships to intercept them. Nemex likes it, and he has an idea that will help.

Zeno then informs Miles that he is getting a distress call, and that someone appears to be in trouble. Silas then calls, asking Mission Force One for help. He mentions Nemesystems taking over the TTA. Silas says that he is adrift; he got away in a shuttle but it ran out of power. Mission Force One decides to help him, but they better do it quick, as strikeships are all over Silas.

The team then heads to where Silas is, but strikeships appear and shut down their shuttle. The strikeships then tow both shuttles into a Nemesystems thundership. During that, Aggro calls Mission Force One, stating that they couldn't stay away. The team tells Aggro that they're back and Nemesystems is going down. Once both shuttles are in the thundership, Miles tells Silas if he is okay in his shuttle when Aggro appears with some striker bots and announces that the galaxy belongs to Nemesystems. Nemex then appears out of the shuttle. Mission Force One questions what he did with Silas, however, Nemex says that he didn't do anything, as he is Silas, shocking Mission Force One. Aggro says that he was a TTA recruit and the head of Nemesystems at the same time.

Loretta thought that Mission Force One and Silas were friends when they worked together at the Mission Center. Silas says that he never had any friends. Not when he asked the TTA to put him on Mission Force One, and especially not when they turned him down. This is because he doesn't play well with others. Silas says that there was no better way to show the Admirals just how wrong they were about him than by taking control of the TTA. He then turns to Nemex before telling Aggro to deal with Mission Force One, as he thinks that they should be freeze-tagged, as well.

After Nemex leaves, Aggro tells the striker bots to deal with Mission Force One, but the team uses their respective gadgets to deactivate them all. Once the second wave approaches, however, Mirandos, Haruna, and Blodger get captured. Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. escape the thundership before its hangar door closes. Aggro opens the door again, and when he doesn't see Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C., he decides for the strikeships to search for them while Mirandos, Haruna, and Blodger get taken to the Nemesystems Mission Center.

Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. realize that no one saw them before heading into a strikeship. They then activate its manual mode. Miles says that if there is any chance at taking back the Mission Center, they'll need help. All but two people were at the Mission Center when Nemex took over, and Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. go to Mars to get help from Phoebe and Leo.

Once there, they head to where Phoebe and Leo are, and M.E.R.C. removes the freeze-tags from them. Miles tells them about it, and Phoebe and Leo realize that Nemesystems is responsible for this. They then decide to join Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. in heading to the Mission Center to take back the TTA, but first, they take back the Stellosphere.

Once the Callistos are in the ship, Stella is delighted to see Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. again, and says that they all look so grown up. Miles says that the TTA needs saving. Stella understands and is ready for action. After Loretta, Miles, and Leo confirm that all systems are go, Phoebe says the Callistos' signature catchphrase before the Stellosphere leaves Mars.

The thundership then makes it to the Mission Center. There, Aggro assures Nemex that Miles, Loretta, and M.E.R.C. will be captured any time when a nemetron tells Nemex that two members of Mission Force One just freed Phoebe and Leo Callisto and are taking the Stellosphere to the Mission Center. Mirandos, Haruna, and Blodger are delighted to hear the news when Nemex orders the nemetron to activate the shutdown cannon and bring down the Stellosphere.

As the shutdown cannon appears, Aggro tells the Exo-Bot to take Haruna, Mirandos, and Blodger away and have them freeze-tagged. Just then, Zeno, who is still in the TTA shuttle, makes his presence felt and frees Haruna, Mirandos, and Blodger. The Exo-Bot tosses the shuttle away before Zeno takes its power cell off, powering the Exo-Bot down. Haruna, Mirandos, and Blodger decide for Zeno to help them take out the cannon.

They then plug Zeno into the Exo-Bot, and Zeno feels like he's ready to get the job done. Mirandos, Blodger, and Haruna make it to the cannon but have no luck powering it down. In the Stellosphere, Loretta tells the Callistos that a shutdown cannon on the surface has a lock on the ship. Miles tells Leo to use evasive action, but Phoebe is the captain of the ship, so it is her call. Leo then avoids the two shutdown beams. With Haruna, Mirandos, and Blodger still having no luck in powering down the cannon, Zeno decides to deactivate it himself by going through it.

The Callistos then make it to the Mission Center, where they meet up with the rest of Mission Force One. Zeno tells Loretta that he only wears an Exo-Bot when he is saving the universe. The Callistos and Mission Force One are ready to take back the TTA. Unfortunately, Aggro and Nemex see this, and Nemex decides to prevent them from getting inside by activating Mission Center lockdown.

Nemesystems Arachno-Bots then appear. Phoebe tells Miles that she, Leo, M.E.R.C., and Mission Force One can handle this. Miles uses his super speed to get him and Loretta into the Mission Center's futuretech lab. Loretta says that that is where the Overrider was made, and she and Miles agree that what's good for the Zenith is good for the Nemesystems stormship.

Miles and Loretta create an exit at the top of the Mission Center before Loretta unlocks the stormship's hatch with the Overrider. They then get inside, which Aggro and Nemex see, and realize what Miles and Loretta are going to do. Back at the Mission Center, Leo, Phoebe, M.E.R.C., Zeno, and the rest of Mission Force One deactivate various Arachno-Bots.

Miles and Loretta then make it to the stormship's engine room. No sooner does this happen when Nemex and Aggro appear there. Nemex activates his Exo-Armor and announces that it all ends here. Miles and Loretta activate their respective gadgets while Aggro sends in defense orbs. After a battle with Nemex and Aggro's forces, Miles and Loretta take the Overrider far enough for it to take over the stormship's engines. Miles announces that the Nemesystems future ends now, although Nemex (who deactivates his Exo-Armor afterwards) and Aggro have come too far.

With the stormship about to launch, Miles and Loretta start to leave. However, Nemex turns back to Silas, and although he is told by Miles that he'll end up stranded on the far end of the galaxy if he doesn't leave his ship, Silas decides to stay on his ship. Miles and Loretta then leave the ship. Silas then gives Aggro a choice to leave, as he wouldn't blame him. Aggro then says his final line, which is, "Where you go, I go.", followed by Silas: "Thank you, Aggro." Miles and Loretta make it back to the Mission Center right before the stormship rockets away, turning the Mission Center back to normal and completing the mission. The Callistos and Mission Force One congratulate each other for taking back the TTA, and Phoebe says that they have some friends and family to wake up.

In the final scene of the episode and the series, the Admirals welcome everyone to what is once again the Tomorrowland Mission Center. They then introduce the head of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Commander Copernicus. Copernicus says that the TTA's mission has always been to connect the universe, and no one has made more connections than Mission Force One, who are then presented with the Spirit of Connection Award. Copernicus tells Miles that Mission Force One has made Tomorrowland proud, and Miles thanks him. The Admirals announce that, because the team's beloved Zenith was lost today, they have a big surprise. A new starship then appears. Watson says that with it, Mission Force One can continue their mission, and Copernicus finishes the sentence by saying, "To connect and protect." The ship then turns into a robot, much to the amazement of Mirandos and Zeno.

After being acknowledged by Copernicus, Miles gives a speech stating how lucky he is to be surrounded by everyone at the Mission Center, as they are the reason for Mission Force One accomplishing so much and making Miles better at what he does. No matter what planet they're from or how different they are, what keeps them united is their need to connect, and the more connections made, the stronger they are.

Finally, as a beam of light heads from the Mission Center, connects six different planets, and forms more beams of light that connect more planets (resembling the TTA's mission of connecting the universe), Miles concludes his speech and the series by stating that no matter what new dangers might face the TTA, and whatever the future has in store, Mission Force One is ready. They will protect the universe and make connections, as the future belongs to everyone. The scene cuts to Miles as he says the series' final line: "All of us."

      • This is his third appearance overall; his only other appearance occurred in "Battle for the Zenith".
    • The lines "That means we're on a runaway starship!" by Blodger and "The TTA's mission has always been to connect the universe." by Commander Copernicus are featured; both were reused lines from "Connect and Protect".
    • The lines "Navigation is online.", "Ship operations, now active.", and "All systems are go." are said; the lines were said by Haruna, Blodger, and Mirandos, respectively, at the end of "Connect and Protect".
  • This is the fourth appearance of the Phantasmos moon, following "Ghost Moon", "Goon Baby Goon", and "Battle for the Zenith".

  • Shortly after the title card is shown, the Nemesystems logo replaces the "N" in the title card, changing the red color on the outside of the title card to light green.
  • This is the third time Nemex says, "No, no, no!" when his plans fail, following "The Lost Empire" and "Face-Off".
  • Recurring characters such as Wimm and Kree Wimpley, Pipp Wimpley, Maya and Kofi Kitumba, Bobble and Blibby Blopp, Captain Joe, Lieutenant Luminix, Maya and Kofi Kitumba, Axel, Ruggles, Mr. Xylon, Prince Rygan, Dr. Consilium, Gong Gong and Po Po, Frida Liang, Queen Gemma, Professor Rubicon, The GameMaster, Malison, Dashiell Scamp, a Magsteed, Commander S'Leet, Martine, Skellig Ro, the Atomos, the Volosians, the People of the Peaks, a Fastidian, and the Sandelion attend the ceremony.
    • Of everyone who stayed at the Mission Center throughout the entire episode, only Maya and Kofi had lines, and Frida was the only one who attended the ceremony virtually.
  • This episode reveals that the reason the TTA has been getting reports about Nemesystems wanting to control the universe while Mission Force One was on their first mission in "Connect and Protect" is because Silas was supposed to be a member of Mission Force One, but he was rejected due to his dislike of working with others. Wanting to prove the Admirals wrong, Silas doubled down as the head of Nemesystems (changing his identity to Commander Nemex while doing so) and set his goal in taking over the TTA.
  • This series finale was watched by 0.403 million viewers.[1]

Goofs[]

  • Unlike all previous episodes featuring Mars, this episode shows that the planet has normal gravity, as opposed to 38% of that on Earth.
  • In the scene after the hangar door closes, when Aggro goes to open it, parts of the door have the green airlock lines replacing the metal.
  • Miles and Loretta see that the stormship's engines are on one side of the engine room, but a few frames later, they are on the other side.
