"The Never Sands of Time" is the second segment of the sixty-sixth episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It premiered on January 31, 2014 alongside "Cubby's Crabby Crusade", and is the second segment of the fifth episode in the third season.
Plot[]
Jake and his crew are playing with Marina and Stormy in Pirate's Plunge. Cubby mentions that tonight, Brightly and his friends will put on a light show for them on Pirate Island Beach. Meanwhile, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Sharky, and Bones are in the Never Land Desert searching for treasure when Captain Hook falls and bumps into the lever, which causes an hourglass to appear from the sand. Sharky mentions that hourglasses were used to tell time before clocks. Captain Hook sees that it holds sands of gold when Mr. Smee warns him that it is the Never Sands of Time, which controls night and day in Neverland, and mentions how it works. As Captain Hook tries to break the golden sand out, Mr. Smee mentions that the Never Sands of Time are supposed to be guarded by a giant Sand Serpent, who then appears. As he chases the crew, he knocks the Never Sands of Time out of its original place, causing night and day to be mixed up, which Jake's crew, Marina, and Stormy notice. Izzy knows about the Never Sands and how it is supposed to be guarded by a Sand Serpent, and Jake and his crew decide to find out what happened to it.
The group arrives at the location of the hourglass containing the Never Sands of Time, only to find it missing. Skully spots it, and Jake deduces that Captain Hook is responsible for this. Bucky lowers his anchor to rescue Hook's crew from the sand serpent, earning four gold doubloons. Hook admits to Skully that he manipulated the Never Sands of Time to obtain its golden sands. Izzy and Cubby explain that the hourglass must be restored before night and day are forever disrupted. Hook understands, and Jake's crew sets out to retrieve the hourglass.
Hook, however, reveals his intention to steal the golden sand once Jake's crew is out of the way, disregarding Mr. Smee's warnings. The Sand Serpent now guards the Never Sands of Time. Brightly goes to fetch her friends and distracts the serpent with a night light show, earning Jake's crew three more gold doubloons. While both Jake's and Hook's crews try to move quietly past the serpent, Hook's efforts to grab the golden sands cause another time disruption, alerting the serpent. A chase ensues, ending with the Sand Serpent, Hook, and the hourglass falling off a cliff. Izzy uses her pixie dust to save them. Jake explains to the serpent that they only want to fix the hourglass. Understanding, the serpent gives them a ride, and Izzy returns the Never Sands of Time to its proper place, restoring daytime, which Marina and Stormy observe. They earn five more gold doubloons. Jake buries the Never Sands of Time again, and Izzy promises the serpent that no one will touch it again. Hook reluctantly agrees before being licked by the Sand Serpent.
Back on Pirate Island, Jake and his crew put the gold doubloons they collected into their Team Treasure Chest. Brightly's night light show then begins, with the fireflies forming Jake's sword, Cubby's map, and Izzy's Pixie Dust. On the Jolly Roger, Sharky's wrist hourglass is working, but Captain Hook never wants to see another hourglass. Sharky mentions that the hourglass is needed to check the time, as their fancy tickity-tock clock broke. A ticking sound is then heard, and Tick-Tock the Crocodile appears and chases Captain Hook around the ship.
