"The New Adventures of Super Kevin" is is the fortieth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Hamster & Gretel.
Synopsis[]
Gretel's powers are transferred to Kevin, making him into Super Guy. Gretel must compete against fierce aliens without the help of her powers.
Plot[]
Part One[]
Kevin and Fred attend Nordle's yard sale in search of something that can help them defeat the greater evil that is coming to Earth when Kevin spots a pendant and decides to buy it. When Gretel arrives at the lair awaiting a battle with the villain Mud Singer, she and Kevin touch the pendant simultaneously, which transfers Gretel's powers to Kevin. Excited that he finally has superpowers, Kevin begs Gretel to let him have them for the afternoon, which Gretel agrees to, desiring to have more time being a normal child and attending a birthday party with Bailey.
Kevin uses Gretel's powers to battle Mud Singer, which earns him fame and admiration via his superhero name "Super Guy"—Hiromi also becomes infatuated with his superhero identity and requests an interview, which he accepts, to which Fred denies as it could reveal Kevin's identity. After begging Gretel to let him keep her powers for the rest of the day, Kevin's ego begins to get the better of him. Meanwhile, Gretel is beamed up to an intergalactic battle arranged by the superpower-granting aliens in order to test her super abilities in preparation for the greater evil.
Part Two[]
With no superpowers to aid her, Gretel is forced to rely on her brains to defeat each of her opponents. Despite defeating the first opponent through no fault of her own, Gretel doubts she will be able to survive, but Bailey's words of encouragement inspire her to press on. When Kevin finally returns to the lair, Hamster and Fred confront him for holding on to Gretel's powers for so long. Gretel then calls Kevin through an alien's phone and after she explains the situation, Kevin realizes how much danger Gretel is in. Fred purchases tickets to the event, which transports Kevin and Hamster to the arena, but the presence of a force field prevents them from helping.
Having outsmarted the rest of her opponents, Gretel faces Skull Pulverizer, but he proves to be the most challenging due to discovering that she has been tricking them. Kevin calls Fred, who has discovered that breaking the pendant will return Gretel's superpowers, but will result in Kevin never being able to have superpowers again. Deciding that her sister's safety is more important than his having powers, Kevin uses the force field to destroy the pendant. Once the pendant is broken, Gretel defeats Skull Pulverizer and wins the battle. When the aliens arrive to congratulate her, Kevin demands more information about the greater evil; they explain to him that the villain's name is Mordros the Annihilator and that he will be even worse than the villains Gretel fought.
Upon returning to Earth, Gretel thanks Kevin for giving her powers back. Kevin then realizes that he has forgotten about Hiromi, who is sadly sitting on the bench outside of J.J. McWeekends waiting for Super Guy.
