The Old Mill is a snack stand and former attraction at Disneyland Paris's Fantasyland based on the Silly Symphony short of the same name. The attraction component, a ferris wheel known as Les Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin (The Old Mill's Swirls) only lasted for a few years.
History[]
The earliest plans for the original Disneyland's Fantasyland featured a ferris wheel based on the Old Mill. While these plans never found use for their original purpose, Imagineers would revisit them when designing Fantasyland for Disneyland Paris. The Mill was built as a snack stand that opened with the park, but designed in such a way that the ferris wheel could be added later. Les Pirouetes du Vieux Moulin opened on June 6, 1993, taking the form of a bucket system attached to the main windmill. However, due to a lack of popularity and low capacity, it would cease operations in the year 2000. The snack stand would continue operation.
