Synopsis[]
Carla is a woman with a mild mental handicap. Despite this, she plans to gain her own independence by attending college and falling in love, all the while her family prepare her sister's wedding.

- Neve Campbell and Skeet Ulrich were originally cast as Carla and Danny.
- Garry Marshall originally wanted his daughter Kathleen to play Heather, but after meeting Sarah Paulson, felt that she was a better choice. This is fitting as Paulson is bisexual and plays a lesbian character.
