"The Path of Anger" is the eighth episode of the Disney+ Star Wars anthology series Tales. It premiered on May 4, 2024, and is the second episode of Tales of the Empire.
Synopsis[]
Morgan is approached by a potentially powerful ally.
Plot[]
Morgan Elsbeth, now the Magistrate of the planet Corvus, presents plans for her "TIE Defender" program, which are rejected by Moff Isdain, as the Empire is only interested in exploiting her planet's resources. However, Captain Gilad Pellaeon takes an interest in Morgan's intellect. Upon returning to Corvus, the inhabitants of the planet turn their backs on Morgan for not fulfilling her promises. Later, she is attacked by an Imperial assassin named Rukh. As a skilled fighter, he provides a heavy challenge for Morgan in combat. However, she takes down Rukh and is again greeted by Gilad Pellaeon. He reveals that the fight with Rukh was a test, and she passed. Pellaeon then introduces Morgan to Admiral Thrawn. He asks Morgan what she would like from their potential partnership, and she admits she seeks revenge. Additionally, she reveals she would like to rebuild the Dathomirian culture she lost in her planet’s destruction. Thrawn is known for his interest in and respect for other cultures, so he immediately affirms a partnership between himself and Morgan. He even lends a portion of his fleet to assist her in her operations.
