"The Perfect Couple" is the second segment of the fifty-eighth episode of Pepper Ann. It aired in September 2001.

Synopsis[]

Pepper Ann throws Nicky and Stuart a surprise party since she considers them to be "the perfect couple". However, Nicky and Stewart fight constantly during the party and decide to break up.

Plot[]

Nicky and Stuart have an argument while on the way for a Scrumble party at Pepper Ann's house and decide to break up, only for them to learn that it is a couple's party to celebrate the sixth month anniversary of their relationship, though they deduce it is simply so Pepper Ann can have Craig over. They decide to keep up the charade so as to not upset Pepper Ann. Meanwhile, Milo and Gwen decide to pursue a real relationship this time, though they have a hard time trying to find a reason to stay together and Lydia somehow keeps getting locked out of the house.

Pepper Ann sets up a series of games to play with Nicky and Stuart trying to keep a straight face the whole time. Pepper Ann sets up a collage, dance, perform charades, twister and 10 seconds of heaven all while Milo and Gwen keep having awkward moments. During a spin the wheel game where they have to guess each other's favorite things, Nicky and Stuart become very savage with each other and during one moment, Nicky runs to the door sees Craig and ends up slamming it on him.

Pepper Ann gets mad and tells Nicky and Stuart that they should break up already because they were arguing. They admit that despite their flawed relationship, they still care about one another and appreciate their quirks. Milo and Gwen decide to break up as they have lost their spark, but they begin to argue about who broke things off with whom and decide to go play Crunch Pod together. Pepper Ann apologizes for forcing Nicky and Stuart to act nice, but they reveal that Craig came by, upsetting Pepper Ann who demands they throw another party. Lydia is still locked out of the house.

Trivia[]

  • Scrumble is a parody of Scramble.
  • Ironically, while the episode ends with the implication that Nicky and Stuart will stay together, and Milo and Gwen will give each other a shot. However, in "Two's Company", both couples break up rather briefly.
