"The Pin is Mightier Than The Swole" is the second segment of the nineteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, Hailey's On It!
Synopsis[]
Expert bowler Hailey struggles with a list item that requires her to lose to her dad at bowling.
Plot[]
It is "Uncle Birthday Season", where Hailey attends her various uncles' birthday parties, each one involving one crazy activity after the next. She finally gets to bowling, something she is actually incredibly good at, but she must complete her next list item which is to let her father Kai win a game. Hailey's plan is to simply land a couple of gutter balls, but these plans are ruined when Kai explains that he is "better" now because he uses the guard rails to hit the pins. Hailey realizes that she has to try hard in order to fail. Beta runs off to help Hailey, but gets distracted by a Stuff-a-Bear vending machine.
No matter how hard she tries, Hailey cannot earn a worse score than her father, making him feel sad. Scott introduces Hailey to Darryl, an employee at U.F. Dough, who is notorious for being incredibly bad at everything, even simple tasks. Hailey asks that he teach her to be bad. During this time, Beta begins to use the vending machine to craft himself a muscular body, something he frequently desires. Eventually, Hailey manages to get to a point where she can successfully mimic Darryl's behavior and gets back to bowling where she manages to make bad roles and score lower than Kai.
A chaos bot appears and starts to improve Hailey's bowling. Beta chases the bot into the back rooms, but his body gets easily torn apart. While Beta distracts and eventually destroys it, Hailey gets back to bowling and continues to score lower, but during the fight, the chaos bot destroys the pins to the point that Hailey is one point below Kai's. Beta calculates that it is still possible to lose if she follows a certain path and Hailey manages to successfully lose against her father. Afterwards, Hailey congratulates Kai for his win, but he deduces that she lost on purpose to make him feel better. He tells her that he is happy that she wins because that means he succeeded in some aspect.
