"The Plausible Impossible" is an episode of the Disneyland television program.
The episode shows Walt Disney explaining how drawings and animation have things that are impossible seem plausible, as evidenced in ancient history (i.e., Egyptian gods, dragons, and various creatures from Greek mythology) and various cartoons with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. This episode also includes an unfinished form of one scene from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs that ultimately ended up on the cutting room floor and was not used in the final film. This episode culminates with the "Night on Bald Mountain" segment of Fantasia.
The episode was released on VHS in 1986 (and paired with The Ranger's Guide to Nature) and the DVD Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studios in the second wave of Walt Disney Treasures releases on December 3, 2002. An excerpt is also included as a bonus feature on the Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume 2 set. The Snow White pencil test footage is also included as a bonus feature on DVD and Blu-Ray releases of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
