Plot[]
At the Tree of Life, Rani leads the Lion Guard to get inside the Tree of Life. Inside is Queen Janna lying around. Completing what Janna requested, Rani introduces the Guard to her grandmother as Rani describes Janna as the guardian of the Tree of Life. Welcomed, Kion asks the queen that he and Ono have arrived to be healed. Kion asks her to know if she knows about the Roar to which she knows about it as she explains that Rafiki sent the Guard here. Kion explains to her that Ono's eyes are injured during the final battle against Scar and Kion has a hard time controlling the roar due to the scar on his face. Janna then tells Nirmala that she is a fierce warrior and also a gentle healer. Nirmala then tells Janna to know if she can heal Ono to which she tells Ono that the remedy for him will take a few days; for Kion, his ailments are complicated other than the scar due to the venom giving him a hard time controlling the roar as she explains that it will take time to heal him to which Kion decides to start right away. Janna then tells Nirmala to know if the healing will begin to which she decides to begin the remedy now to which Nirmala plans to take Kion to be healed. Janna then tells Rani that Baliyo and Surak can handle the Night Pride's duties as she tells her that Rani must do the duties her grandmother cannot perform anymore. Rani decides to do Janna's task while the Janna tells Makini to stay to which she remembers Makini was little when she and her parents arrived to meet Rafiki. Makini also tells her that the Tree of Life is the spot where she would be a Royal Mjuzi someday. Makini then decides to continue the training of being a Royal Mjuzi.
Elsewhere outside the Tree of Life, Nirmala takes Kion to a river known as Dirisha, the River of Patience. Kion tells Nirmala that Dirisha is the spot where Kion can heal his disabilities to which she explains that Dirisha is the first of many steps to curing him. When Kion tells Nirmala to know how long it will take for him to be healed, she explains that she must be very patient just like what Queen Janna said to Kion. When Kion sees a bright orange flower like what Nirmala told him (also linked to the flower Nirmala is wearing), she tasks Kion to bring the flower to her. Before Kion could get the flower, Nirmala instructs him to wait for a log to float pass him, jump on it, then ride it towards the river's bank; Kion then must hop off upon reaching the sandy bank and then climb to the path leading to the top of the ridge. Kion tells her that if swimming would be fast to get to the flower to which Nirmala says that going fast isn't always reliable because in Dirisha, everything is about patience. Kion decides to do the task in Nirmala's way. Kion tells Nirmala to know if there are any logs coming to which she tells him that it might take days for one to come.
Meanwhile, Rani tells the Lion Guard (this time only with Fuli, Bunga, Beshte, and Anga due to Ono and Kion being healed and Makini mingling with Janna) to know what makes the Tree of Life a special place to which Rani explains that the Tree of Life is home to every kind of habitat. Rani then sings to the Guard by showing them the habitats around the Tree of Life where everyone lives in harmony. Among the habitats she passes through are a desert, a tundra, a forest, and a grassland while Rani tells the Guard to respect all the animals living there. After singing, Rani tells the Guard that every animal is welcomed so as long as they respect the Circle of Life. Meanwhile, Makucha, along with Chuluun and Ora, arrive to the spot the Lion Guard arrives as they prepare to eat exotic animals living there. Ora then tells Makucha that he cannot see the Tree of Life anywhere to which Makucha explains that he is following the scent. Ullu far away then notices Makucha along with Chuluun and Ora planning to invade the Tree of Life by eating the rare and exotic animals. She then arrives to Rani and the Guard that she saw Makucha planning to eat the exotic animals as Rani and the Guard witness Ullu's alert.
Meanwhile, Nirmala tells Kion that Askari, the original leader of the Lion Guard, first discovered the Roar of the Elders at Cikha Escarpment. A log on the river finally passes through as Kion jumps on it, but suddenly falls off. Rani then arrives to Nirmala that the Guard needs her while Nirmala tells Kion to finish Nirmala's task. Meanwhile, Makucha's army is at the frontier where Bunga caused a rockslide as Makucha prepares to get inside the Tree of Life. However, the Night Pride arrives and prepares for battle against them. As the Night Pride fights against Makucha, Chuluun, and Ora, Kion stays at Dirisha where he is waiting patiently as Fuli told Kion that Ullu warned to Rani about Makucha's army planning to eat the rare animals in the Tree of Life. The Night Pride continues fighting against Makucha and his army as they are able to fend them off from reaching the Tree of Life.
The Lion Guard then arrives to the Night Pride, only to notice that the Night Pride defeated the predators to which Rani explains that defending the Tree of Life is the Night Pride's job and they are good at it. Rani then tells Kion to return to the spot to get healed. Kion then tells Rani that Makucha along with Chuluun and Ora followed the Guard here. Meanwhile, Janna tells Makini that this spot is where Askari first discovered the Roar of the Elders. Queen Janna is glad to have Makini stay here as has been a while the Tree had a Royal Mjuzi. Janna then gives her a replacement of her bakora staff (minus the gourd carrying Tuliza). Rani then accuses Kion for leading Makucha, Chuluun, and Ora into the Tree of Life to which Kion tries to explain, but Rani tells him that defeating the predators is the Night Pride's duty. Janna then tells Kion that fending off the predators is the Night Pride's duty in protecting the Tree of Life. Janna then tells Kion that he must help himself to do the same task she did with Nirmala by going back to Dirisha.
Meanwhile at Dirisha, another log arrives and Kion is unsuccessful to which Nirmala says it takes patience. Frustrated in doing Nirmala's way, Kion then swims across a strong current and leads Kion to the path to get to the flower. Instead of following Nirmala to the path, Kion then decides to do it his way by jumping up many slopes. Nirmala then tells Kion that it is almost night as she tells Kion to get some rest before trying again tomorrow. Kion explains to the Lion Guard about his frustration with the flower of healing to which Kion decides to do the task the next day. Meanwhile, Rani arrives to the Night Pride to which Surak found out that Makucha, Chuluun, and Ora are back as the Night Pride continue their duty to protect the Tree of Life. At the entrance to the Tree of Life, Makucha plans to taking revenge against the Night Pride as Ora, the big Komodo dragon, plans on doing it his way by biting every animal he sees.
Back at Dirisha, Kion decides to complete the task in Nirmala's way. Kion waits patiently for another log to arrive as he successfully lands but falls off. Kion then perfectly balances on the log and arrives to the path to the flower. Ullu then arrives, telling Nirmala that the predators have arrived to attack again as Kion tries to help the Night Pride to which Nirmala tells Kion to finish his task to get healed while Nirmala helps the Night Pride fend off the predators. Soon as Nirmala continues to fend off the predators, Kion decides to finish Nirmala's task. Makucha and his army finally get through the area as the Night Pride corners the predators. During the battle, Baliyo ultimately gets wounded when Ora bites him, leaving it into the battle of three predators against three lions.
Meanwhile, Kion finally reaches to the top of the ridge patiently and finds the healing flower. Kion then notices the Night Pride fending off the predators with Baliyo injured by Ora's venom. Getting the flower, Kion decides to help the Night Pride by taking Baliyo's place. After stopping Chuluun before she kills him, Baliyo tells Kion to use the Roar of the Elders against the predators to which Makucha and Chuluun decide to go to the other side of the Tree of Life. Rani escorts Surak to find and defeat Ora while telling Nirmala to bring Baliyo to safety. Rani then tells Kion to stop Makucha and Chuluun from reaching the ridge by following Nirmala's path. At the ridge, he and Rani confront Makucha and Chuluun to which they are able to knock them off the ridge. The leopard and snow leopard prepare to fight against the Guard as Bunga was able to use his stench ability to defeat the predators. Upon arriving to Baliyo, Nirmala explains that the venom by Ora will eventually wear off. Rani then tells her little brother to be careful while fighting a Komodo dragon like Ora. Upon seeing the trampled flower due to the battle against the predators, Nirmala tells Kion he finished the task as giving the flower to Nirmala wasn't the point of getting healed though she would always like to have a new flower behind her ear. Kion then tells Bunga that he's not better yet to which Nirmala explains he completed the first step in becoming healed as it take patience for the injury to be healed.
Meanwhile, Makucha, Chuluun, and Ora are upset about their encounter with the Lion Guard and the Night Pride as they plan taking revenge against them especially Bunga. Mama Bintuong arrives and becomes the new leader of Makucha's army to take revenge against the Lion Guard and the Night Pride.
