"The Science Project" is the third episode of Lloyd in Space.
Plot[]
Lloyd really wants a pet animal, but at the same time has a science project he needs to complete. Douglas suggests that Lloyd should make a mould, the simplest project. Lloyd is happy about it at first, deciding to call it his own pet 'Mouldy', but then Lloyd's science project goes bad when he feeds it too much junk food and it goes on a food rampage.

- A Flash animated epilogue to this episode was once available on the Disney Channel website. In the animation, Lloyd is in the kitchen and notices a piece of mold on a piece of food. He reminisces about Mouldy before leaving the kitchen, only for the piece of mold to then sprout eyes, with it revealed that the kitchen is full of other Mouldy's.
