The Sea Witch is a recurring antagonist from the television series Jake and the Never Land Pirates. She is not to be confused with Ursula, who is commonly referred to as "The Sea Witch."
Role in the series[]
The Sea Witch was first mentioned in the episode, "The Pirate Princess". As the story goes, the beautiful Pirate Princess was sailing the Never Sea when a villainous witch attacked her and turned her into gold. After hearing about the tale, pirates Jake, Izzy, Cubby, and their parrot Skully, decided to save the princess, restoring her true form.
The Sea Witch makes her first actual appearance in the episode "Season of the Sea Witch". Here, the Sea Witch plans on dominating Never Land and turning the Pirate Princess into a gold statue again. She sneaks into the Pirate Princess' palace as a black cloud and confronts the Pirate Princess, who reveals herself to be Izzy in disguise. Moments later, Captain Hook appeared, also disguised as the Pirate Princess, attempting to steal the princess's diamonds. The Sea Witch, tricked by Hook's disguise, transformed him into a golden statue. Jake exclaimed, "You silly sea witch! That wasn't the Pirate Princess either. That was Captain Hook!" The Sea Witch, shocked and confused, asked, "How many Pirate Princesses are there?!"
The real Pirate Princess appears and says, "There's only one, and I'm not afraid of you, Sea Witch!" She attempts to zap the Sea Witch with her rainbow wand, but the blast misses. The witch retaliates, magically blasting the wand from the princess's hand. Jake catches the wand and informs the Pirate Princess they'll meet her back in her chamber after they stop the Sea Witch. The Pirate Princess wishes them good luck and flees to her room for safety. However, the witch fills the room Jake and his crew are in with disorienting black clouds and flies away. Meanwhile, the Pirate Princess locks her door to keep the witch out, but the witch enters through an open window.
The witch prepares to turn the Pirate Princess into gold, but Jake and his crew arrive just in time with the rainbow wand. Izzy quickly tosses the wand to the Pirate Princess, who catches it and shouts "Rainbows away!" as she blasts the Sea Witch. The blast transforms the Sea Witch into the kind Misty the Wonderful Witch. Misty thanks the Pirate Princess for changing her life.
In the episode "Misty's Magical Mix-Up!", Jake and his crew pay a visit to Misty's cottage. While entertaining the young pirates, Misty accidentally triggers the Shadow Wand, which reverts Misty back into the evil Sea Witch, who plans to turn the Pirate Princess into a gold statue again. The Sea Witch confronts the Pirate Princess at her palace proving far more strong than their final encounter and might have prevailed if Jake and his crew had not intervened with Bucky's bubble cannon.
With the witch temporally foiled the Pirate Princess revealed to Jake and his crew that she and the witch grew up together in a faraway kingdom and the witch always pulled Manu tricks on her. Meanwhile, the Sea Witch allies herself with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee to distract Jake and his crew while she took care of the princess. The witch prepares to turn the princess and young pirate team into gold with her Shadow Wand. Izzy quickly uses her pixie dust on the witch causing her to drop and destroy the Shadow Wand leaving the witch powerless. The Sea Witch confesses the motive she wanted to turn the princess into gold is that she refused to be her friend when they were kids, claiming the cruel tricks she played on the princess were joking only to make her laugh. The Pirate Princess forgives the Witch for her actions and befriends once again transforming the witch back into Misty the Wonderful Witch.
