The Simpsons: May the 12th Be With You is an American crossover animated short film featuring The Simpsons. It was released exclusively on Disney+ on May 10, 2024 in conjunction with Mother's Day.
Synopsis[]
It's Mother's Day and Marge Simpson joins the moms of Disney+ on a special holiday outing that turns into an epic galactic adventure filled with heroes, villains, and a surprising old friend.
Plot[]
The short starts with Dumbo pulling a sleigh with Eudora, Elastigirl, Jack-Jack, Queen Leah, and Perdita riding on it while Marge is telling everyone to buckle up during the Disney+ Mother's Day outing outside the Simpsons house. Just before Marge (accompanied by Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Bambi and his mother, the Mother and Son from Bao, and Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother) can drive, she realizes that the engine would not start. Bambi's mother mistakes the sound for a hunter's gun, telling Marge to take her son instead of her, only for Marge to tell her that she and her son are fine, explaining to them about Homer's note on the car stating that he forgot to fix the engine. Suddenly, Ahsoka Tano (accompanied by Rotta the Hutt) landing a T-6 Jedi Shuttle onto Springfield approaches Marge, who thinks that her problem is solved. Amongst the other characters walking alongside Marge with Maggie are several characters from Disney animated films (such as Sarabi with Simba, Eudora with Tiana, Queen Arianna with Rapunzel, Kanga with Roo, Nani with Lilo, Mulan, or Bonnie with Judy Hopps). Nani asks Marge if she is comfortable with hyperspace travel, which Marge tells her that she never gets carsick. As everyone boards the ship (which blasts off into outer space), the Shuttle attempts to land on a planet titled "Disney Playground Planet", followed by Pongo, Perdita, and the Dalmatian Puppies with Bingo and her mother Chilli feeling excited while sticking their heads out of the window. However, the Evil Queen in her hag form tells everyone (such as Groot with Baby Groot, Kala with Tarzan, Laurel with Ian and Barley Lightfoot, Fa Li, Luisa with Miguel, Ming with Mei Lee, Anna and Elsa, Mirabel, etc.) that they must arrive at Disney Parking Planet first.
Just as the Shuttle is on its way to Disney Parking Planet, Mickey Mouse parks a hovercar in the spot reserved for Bob Iger, causing him to bump into the sign, resulting it being changed to "Except for Mickey". As Marge and the other Disney characters (including Bluey, Bingo, and Chilli) arrive at Disney Playground Planet, Mrs. Potts tells her son Chip that the park is clean, only to notice Darth Vader, giving visitors a warning that the penalty for littering in the park is death as part of the park's policy while Marge suggests everyone to get a snack at a dessert kiosk stand titled "31 Hundred Flavors" with Goofy asking the Squeaky-Voiced Teen for a flavor while Rotta swallows a child's sandcastle. Meanwhile, Mary Poppins tells the child to not insult Rotta, reminding him that any rude behavior is not allowed at the park.
Meanwhile during a simulation event, the other adult Jedi arm themselves with Lightsabers fighting off a group of Stormtroopers in a showdown. Maggie extends her pacifier, using it as a Lightsaber to fight off the Stormtroopers while Mrs. Jumbo tosses another Stormtrooper with Ahsoka, Cinderella, and Bambi's mother taking on more of them. However, a blast from one of the Stormtrooper's weapons vaporizes half of Marge's hair, taking revenge against the Stormtroopers by using her compact mirror as a defensive weapon and then her purse to repel the Stormtroopers. A nearby Stormtrooper stops the battle and tells Marge that this is just a Jedi simulation battle, which happens every fifteen minutes. Another Stormtrooper tells everyone (including Maggie) that Marge ruined the simulation for them, making them very furious of what she did. Just as Marge attempts to apologize, she curiously asks Chewbacca of how she should apologize in Wookiee language. After Chewbacca teaches Marge the way to apologize in Wookiee language, the latter tells everyone to have an apology part at her family's house at Springfield.
Back at Springfield at the Simpsons house, everyone is having a barbecue party within the backyard. Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes perform together with Sy Snootles dancing along, while Grampa tells the band members if they know the song "Moon River". The Cantina band members agree and suddenly play the song for him, while one of the junior Jedi slices a piñata in the shape of the Star Destroyer with his Lightsaber, followed by Miguel pinning a tail on Eeyore. However, Marge later encounters several other characters from Hulu series in the party - namely those from Family Guy (Chris, Lois, Meg, and Stewie Griffin), Bob's Burgers (Tina, Linda, Gene, and Louise Belcher), and King of the Hill (Peggy and Bobby Hill) respectively. Stewie asks Marge if she could upgrade his juice box, only for Homer to tell his wife that he is taking Stewie to Moe's Tavern, much to Stewie feeling furious about this.
